Bottom Line

The two-and-a-half-pearl Quality Inn & Suites opened in early 2017, and offers freshly renovated guest rooms and facilities at an affordable rate. The property is a quiet location about 10 minutes outside downtown Kissimmee, but it's more than a 20-minute drive to reach top area attractions, including Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. The hotels' 112 units have pleasant decor, accented with serene shades of blue. All contain comfortable beds, and are equipped with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, free Wi-Fi. Highlight features include free breakfast, an outdoor pool, and fitness center, but the hotel doesn't have an elevator, and some common spaces are cramped. Families looking for larger spaces with kitchens and amenities with kid appeal can compare rates with Star Island Resort & Club.

Quality Inn & Suites Heritage Park

Scene

Business and leisure travelers pack the breakfast area of this freshly renovated hotel

The former hotel Kissimmee Villager Premier hotel was completely gutted to create this Quality Inn, popular with leisure and business travelers alike. The lobby is modest with a few bright accents, including two mod orange sofas that give the space energy, but it isn't a place to linger. The small breakfast area across from the entrance and front desk is flooded with light, but it only has seating for a couple dozen people, and can become overly crowded at peak hours. When this happens, guests take meals back to their rooms, or outside to the pool area. The lobby quiets down considerably after breakfast, but a steady stream of traffic continues all day.

Location

On a quiet road, about a 10-minute drive from downtown Kissimmee, but far from attractions

Quality Inn & Suites enjoys a quiet setting that’s just off busy E. Irlo Bronson Highway, about a 10-minute drive from downtown Kissimmee. The hotel is somewhat isolated, and past guests have reported that it's a little hard to find. There's a 24-hour Denny’s next door, and an Italian restaurant that's about a three-minute walk. Several other restaurants and a convenience store are within a short drive. Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Epcot are about 30 minute in the car, and it's roughly a 23-minute drive to Universal Studios. The Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center is a 27-minute drive, and it's a 30-minute drive to Orange County Convention Center. Reaching Orlando International Airport takes about 23 minutes by car.

Rooms

Contemporary decor with enticing accents, plus flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers

Guest rooms at Quality Inn & Suites are pleasant and comfortable, with cornflower blue accent walls and cerulean bedspreads. Matching wood furniture has a warm amber finish, and stylish oval mirrors and framed contemporary art are nice finishing touches. The hotel's name is a bit misleading -- there are no suites -- and while spaces don't feel too snug, there's no room for side armchairs. Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, coffeemakers and free coffee, irons and ironing boards, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are well-lighted and have granite vanities and walk-in showers, and they contain hairdryers and toiletries. Units are very quiet, and offer views of the grounds.

Features

Free breakfast, outdoor pool, fitness center, and free Wi-Fi, but some spaces are cramped

The property's updated amenities are one of its major selling points. The hotel has a lovely outdoor pool surrounded by a patio with loungers and tables, and patches of grass and palm trees that make the space inviting. There's no full-service restaurant, but there's a free hot breakfast buffet, although it's served in a cramped area, and gets crowded at peak times. Free coffee and tea are available in the lobby throughout the day.

The fitness center has two treadmills, two exercise bikes, an elliptical machine, and free weights, but they're tightly packed in a narrow room that doesn't get any natural light. The hotel also has a computer and printer in a small space off the lobby, and a meeting room that can accommodate up to 65 people. Wi-Fi throughout and on-site parking are free. Travelers with limited mobility should be aware that there's no elevator to access the second floor.
