Bottom Line

The 614-room, three-pearl Seralago Hotel & Suites Orlando is a budget-friendly property with a motel-style layout, 10 minutes from the major theme parks. Family-oriented amenities include two large pools, a game room, food court, and scheduled shuttles to Orlando attractions. Rooms are spacious enough and some have kitchenettes, but bathrooms are rather small. Furniture is a bit dated and the complex needs more upkeep. And be aware there's a mandatory resort fee, though room rates are some of the lowest in the area. For another three-pearl property that’s still budget-friendly, consider the Holiday Inn Orlando SW-Celebration Area.

This sprawling hotel complex reflects its family-resort surroundings and motor-court bones with two-story buildings and parking right outside rooms. The property’s name is presented in bright, multi-color lettering that suggests this is a festive place. The interior is bright and fun with tropical plants and large placards promoting Disney and other attractions. An arcade-style game room whirs with flashing lights and video game sounds, adjacent to a mall-style food court with casual dining options and seating. Two large outdoor pools are centers of activity, and the area includes a covered, brightly painted snack bar, kiddy pools, shuffle board, and nearby playground and sand volleyball court. First and foremost, this is a hotel that caters to families exploring all the fun adventures that Orlando offers. It bustles with activity from morning until dark.

Rooms

Spacious rooms but a bit dated, some in need of upkeep

Rooms offer plenty of space to move about and if well kept, are perfectly acceptable for a family-oriented, budget-friendly hotel. Beds have wood headboards with matching nightstands, dressers hold tube-style or flat-screen TVs, and small round tables are paired with wooden and upholstered chairs. In some rooms, furnishings are a light pine, while it’s a bit darker in others. Standard Double Rooms typically have blue patterned carpet, floral bedspreads, mauve drapes, and yellow stucco-style walls. Microwaves and wall mirrors are positioned above vanities, while mini-fridges rest below. Bathrooms are rather small with basic white shower/tub combos, beige floor tiles, and green tiles on the walls. Coffeemakers are on hand only in some rooms, but they can be requested from the front desk. Wi-Fi access is included in the daily resort fee, but many guests report that it's spotty.

Special Kid's Suites are offered and include colorful thematic artwork and second, small bedrooms with twin bunk beds and single beds separated by curtains. Two-Room Suites have separate living rooms with matching upholstered armchairs and sofa beds, wet bars with high-back chairs, and Murphy beds that comes down from the wall. Some suites have whirlpool tubs.

While generally clean, there is evidence that some rooms are in need of updating and more attention from housekeeping. In some rooms, paint is peeling from rusted exterior doors, furniture is nicked up, and tile grout and caulk could use a good scrubbing. Past guests have complained about everything from broken key readers to drainage issues to leaky air-conditioners.
