Hotel Villa Flori

Housed in a restored 19th-century villa, Hotel Villa Flori has maintained the original look of the exquisite stucco work and floral frescoes, complementing them with antique furnishings and beautiful gardens. The cobblestoned entryway leads into a beautiful lobby with colorful mosaic floors, vintage maroon and royal blue chairs and sofas, an oak reception desk, black-and-white artwork, and ornate light fittings. The exteriors are home to a private garden with orange and lemon groves among beautifully landscaped gardens and a few figure statues along the stoned pathways. An elegant Old World charm is apparent throughout the hotel, from the old-fashioned portraits of prominent past guests to the large bookshelf in the hallway, detailed ceilings, and beautifully decorated restaurant and bar. The location right on the lake adds to the relaxing atmosphere and there are several spots (both indoor and outdoor) for guests to sit back and take in the views. The romantic scenery makes the hotel popular for couples. 

Centrally located between Como and Cernobbio, Hotel Villa Flori is a bit isolated for travelers looking to explore the area on foot. The hotel is set on the western shores of Lake Como and apart from the lake, there's little within walking distance from the hotel. Cernobbio can be reached in a three-minute drive and the center of Como is about an 11-minute drive from the hotel. Both cities can be reached via a bus stop that's a two-minute walk from the hotel. There's a ferry dock reachable within five minutes on foot. The hotel also has a private dock for guests arriving by boat. Malpensa Airport is about a 45-minute drive. Linate Milan Airport is a 55-minute drive. 

The 53 guest rooms, including seven Junior Suites, are elegant and sophisticated at Hotel Villa Flori. Decor features an Old World theme, with patterned wallpaper, antique furniture, wooden floors, and quaint chandeliers. Most rooms feature a refined beige and baby blue color scheme with maroon accents on the chairs. All rooms and suites enjoy stunning views of the lake, but only some rooms feature private balconies. All units include air-conditioning, a flat-screen TV, minibar, tea- and- coffee-making facilities, desk, safe, and free Wi-Fi. The electronically controlled blackout drapes are a nice touch. Bathrooms feature marble floors with a shower/tub combo or walk-in shower, along with a hairdryer and Culti toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers are provided.

For a more private experience, the Gran Lago Suite is completely separate from the main hotel and features a wraparound terrace and garden with magnificent views of the lake. The interiors are lush and include two separate bedrooms, a living area, dining area, and fully-equipped kitchenette.

The remarkable lake views are the highlight for most guests at Hotel Villa Flori, and the available features come as an added bonus. There's a free buffet breakfast of hot and cold items served each morning in the dining room. A mix of local and international dishes are available for lunch and dinner at Restaurant Raimondi. For casual drinks and light snacks, there's the Lounge Bar which, like the restaurant, enjoys beautiful lake views and is open to the public. The attic floor of the hotel houses a small spa for various relaxation treatments, a sauna, Turkish bath, and small collection of slightly dated TechnoGym cardio and weight-training equipment.
