This outpost of the reliable Comfort Suites brand is more like a family-owned inn, with a warm and welcoming vibe that's helped, no doubt, by the free cookies that are set out on the reception desk daily. Confections aside, there's a lot to like at this value property. The lobby has the charm of a homey living room and includes a fireplace, couch, and a TV. The breakfast room is usually decorated for the seasons -- a scarecrow and dried leaves for fall, bright lights and pine boughs for the winter, and so on. It's thoughtful touches like these that make this hotel a great option for the area, and it's especially popular with vacationing families and couples, but also draws business travelers and large bus tour groups.

This hotel is situated off the busy Lincoln Highway, surrounded by a mix of open Amish country and typically suburban trappings like chain restaurants and big-box stores. Most guests will want to drive, as it's not the most appealing area for strolling, but for those needing a little exercise, it’s a six-minute walk to the Amish Farm and House, an eight-minute walk to the American Music Theater, and a 12-minute walk to Dutch Wonderland. Drive times to all of these destinations never take more than five minutes, and the Rockvale Outlets are just one-minute down the road by car. It’s a 15-minute drive into downtown Lancaster, home to the historic Central Market and the Fulton Opera House. Philadelphia is a 90-minute drive from the hotel and is home to the closest major airport.

For a budget chain brand, the rooms here are pleasantly modern and appealing, though don't let the "suites" in the hotel's name fool you -- there are no separate sleeping and living areas in these rooms. The look is uniform across the board, and each has a photo of Amish country hanging on the walls and a color scheme dominated by navy blue plus light green and yellow tones. Furniture has simple, clean lines and dark wood veneer finishes, and all rooms have seating areas that include loveseats, armchairs, and desks. Rooms have one king bed or two queen beds. All come with with one-cup coffeemakers, air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, safes, mini-fridges, microwaves, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are basic, with long granite countertops, large mirrors over the sinks, shower/tub combos, and toiletries. 

This budget-friendly hotel serves a generous free breakfast that includes waffles, eggs, and bacon. There's also a small indoor pool that's heated and is surrounded by attractive gray-stone tile and white-plastic tables and chairs. The fitness center is compact, but has a simple selection of modern cardio- and weight-training machines that's fine for a basic workout. Of course, there are free cookies offered daily in the lobby, and the hotel has a snack corner selling travel necessities and non-alcoholic drinks.. A small meeting room and a business center are also available, along with coin-operated laundry. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, and parking is also free.
