Apartamentos Celeste

The Celeste Apartments is an apartment-style hotel that attracts primarily couples looking for an affordable stay in the heart of the action. Apartments are divided among three white-painted buildings with green trim, each of which has its own small swimming pool in a sunny terrace with greenery. Interiors, unfortunately, aren't as attractive, as they have dated and worn decor consisting of old-fashioned wood furniture, wicker armchairs, and patterned linens. Additional fees for things such as fans and Wi-Fi hurt the property's value, but the quiet atmosphere and central setting are undeniable pros.

The Celeste Apartments has a wonderful location in the town of Costa Teguise, on the island of Lanzarote. It's a three-minute walk to a wide, sandy beach, and the a number of shops, bars, and restaurants surround the property in all directions. There are some within the apartment complex itself, but they're not part of the Celeste Apartments, and guests do not get any special offers. Arrecife, the capital of the island, is about a 15-minute drive away, while Lanzarote Airport is around 20 minutes. AQUAPARK Costa Teguise is a five-minute drive or 30-minute walk.

The 85 one- and two-bedroom apartments are divided among three blocks, one of which is for adults only. Although the apartments are spacious and bright, they are severely dated and showing wear, with simple wood furniture, cheap patterned couch upholstery and drapes, and painted wall tiles. Their biggest downside though is that they lack air-conditioning and fans must be rented. Nevertheless, they have open-plan living rooms and kitchenettes equipped with two-burner hobs, sinks, mini-fridges, microwaves, kettles, and toasters, as well as the usual cookware. These areas are separated from the couches and flat-screen TVs by breakfast bars with wooden stools. Bedrooms have large built-in closets and little else. Old-fashioned bathrooms have showers or shower/tub combos and bars of soap. Each room has a furnished terrace. Wi-Fi and safes require fees.

The main selling point at the Celeste Apartments is its location near all Costa Teguise has to offer, but there's little actually on the property. The only real features here are the small pools found at each apartment block. They're all set in sunny terraces with greenery and plastic loungers. No restaurant, bar, kids' club, or entertainment are provided here. There is some communal seating in the lobby, and a business area composed of a computer and printer. One of the blocks also has a big vaulted space with a washing machine and dryer, pool table, a few wooden chairs, and a vending machine. Parking is free.
