Bottom Line

The two-pearl Ereza Apartamentos Los Hibiscos complex is simple, but it gets the job done. The 141 apartments are clean and outfitted in basic furniture, plus they have furnished terraces, modern bathrooms, and well-equipped kitchens, although the hotel has an all-inclusive package if guests don't want to cook themselves. That said, though guests appreciate the buffet breakfast, they are less enthusiastic about the food quality for lunch and dinner. A large, round swimming pool and a pool bar are pros, but it doesn’t offer a kids’ club or entertainment. Parents looking to keep their kids busy might want to try the nearby Hotel THB Flora, which has a kids' club and full entertainment program.

Ereza Apartamentos Los Hibiscos

Scene

Bare-bones hotel with mostly contemporary, albeit simple, decor

The Ereza Apartamentos Los Hibiscos is rather bare-bones, though its white terraced exterior with bright-blue accents is cheerful. Interiors are mostly contemporary, though they're rather uninspired and bland, plus some dated decor remains. The buffet restaurant is a small space, with very few windows and cafeteria-style plastic chairs, while the more pleasant pool bar features hunks of black volcanic stone and outfitted in lime-green seating. The latter has wide windows overlook the good-sized pool, where most guests congregate when not at the nearby beach. The Ereza Apartamentos by and large attracts a crowd of British tourists looking for uncomplicated fun in the sun.

Location

Two-minute walk from the beach and close to nightlife

The Ereza Apartamentos has a convenient location, a two-minute walk from the Playa Grande, Puerto del Carmen’s beach, and close to many shops, bars, and restaurants. There are two minimarts within a minute’s walk of the hotel. That said, the old town and its pretty harbor are both a 20-minute walk away. Guests looking to hit up the fairway can reach the 18-hole Lanzarote Golf in seven minutes by car, while the Centro Comercial Biosfera Plaza, a large shopping mall, is a three-minute drive away. Expect transfers to Lanzarote Airport to take roughly 10 minutes by car.

Rooms

Clean and comfortable apartments with decently equipped kitchens

The 141 apartments are clean and comfortable, but they can look bare to the point of being spartan, outfitted with gray-tile floors, white walls, and basic honey-toned wood furniture. Blue polka-dot bed throws and pillows, and lone pieces of modern artwork in the bedrooms add some color. All have one bedroom with two single beds that can be pushed together to make a double. The open-plan living room and kitchen areas are separated by granite breakfast bars that seat three on metal backless stools. The kitchens are decently equipped with full-size fridges, two-burner stoves, kettles, and all the usual cookware. Three-seater couches upholstered in cream fabric, coffee tables, desks, chairs, and flat-screen TVs fill the lounges. White-tiled bathrooms are bright and modern, and have walk-in showers. All rooms have a furnished terrace with pretty views over the pool terrace, sea, and/or garden. Safes, toiletries, and wall-mounted hairdryers are provided, but Wi-Fi requires a steep daily fee. They do not have air-conditioning, although guests can borrow fans from reception.

Features

All-inclusive package, pool bar, and swimming pool

Despite the in-room cooking facilities, the Ereza Apartamentos Los Hibiscos offers a fairly generous all-inclusive package. It includes three meals, snacks, and local drinks (non-alcoholic beverages and house wine, beer, and liquor), however, although guests generally enjoy the breakfast buffet, most are dissatisfied with the quality of lunch and dinner. The poolside bar is a more pleasant spot that serves drinks and snacks throughout the day. The good-sized, circular pool is set in a sunny terrace with plenty of loungers. There is no kids' club or children’s entertainment, but there is a small game area by the pool with a billiards and an air-hockey table underneath a wooden pergola. The hotel has Wi-Fi throughout, but guests wanting to access the network will incur a steep daily charge.
