Bottom Line

The two-and-a-half-pearl Mansion Nazaret is a dated, apartment-style property about a five-minute walk from the beach in Costa Teguise. Although the 60 apartments here are in need of some TLC, due to outmoded decor and evident wear, but they have living spaces, kitchenettes, and furnished terraces. Also on the downside, they lack air-conditioning. A small outdoor pool is surrounded by ample loungers and food at the buffet restaurant receives positive reviews. Free welcome bottles of wine and daily fresh room-delivered bread rolls are nice touches. Travelers wanting modern apartments and more facilities, such as a kids' club and multiple pools, should check out the H10 Suites Lanzarote Gardens.

Nazaret Mansion

Scene

Simple, dated apartment complex with quiet atmosphere

The Mansion Nazaret has 60 rooms spread across three floors and set around a sunny pool terrace with palm trees. Interiors aren't as attractive, featuring dated, simple decor -- think traditional wood furniture and old-fashioned patterned linens. Also on the downside, the property lacks both air-conditioning and elevators. The pool here is a bit small, but guests can use a larger one at sister property Nazaret Apartments next door. Despite the hotel's location near numerous bars, the hotel has a quiet atmosphere. As there are few kid-centric facilities, it's best suited to laid-back couples on vacation.

Location

Near ample nightlife and a five-minute walk from the beach

One of the best things about Mansion Nazaret is its location, in central Costa Teguise and just steps from the town’s nightlife. Playa Las Cucharas, an attractive sandy beach, is a five-minute walk away. Several restaurants and bars are within a five-minute walk, and a shopping mall and supermarket are next door. In the other direction, the Aquapark Costa Teguise water park is a three-minute drive away. Costa Teguise Golf Club is five minutes away by car, while Arrecife is an 11-minute drive. Lanzarote Airport is 15 minutes away by car.

Rooms

Spacious, dated apartments with small kitchenettes but no air-conditioning

The 60 apartments at the Mansion Nazaret are sizable, decorated in a traditional, dated Canarian style that could use an update. Classical wooden furniture, terra-cotta tile floors, red pleather couches in their living rooms, and old-fashioned striped linens. Small still life and beach-themed artwork hangs on the walls. Rooms are showing wear, but more guests complain of the lack of air-conditioning and ceiling fans. Nevertheless, they have either one or two separate bedrooms, living spaces with flat-screen TVs and dining tables, and kitchenettes equipped with just enough to make a meal --  two-ring electric hobs, microwaves, mini-fridges, kettles, and cookware. All have outdoor spaces furnished with dining sets. Bathrooms have decorative tiling and shower/tub combos with old showerheads, plus hairdryers and bars of soap. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, desks, and closets with safes. A charming touch are the welcome bottles of wine and free fresh-baked rolls hung on the apartment doors each day.

Features

Buffet restaurant and pool bar, sunny pool terrace, and free Wi-Fi

The Mansion Nazaret has a pretty short list of amenities, but guests like what’s on offer. In particular, the buffet restaurant receives positive reviews for its varied breakfast and dinner spreads. During the day, a pool bar serves drinks and light meals. The complex has an oddly shaped and relatively small swimming pool set in a sunny terrace with plenty of sun loungers and a pool table. Fortunately, guests can use a larger pool at the Nazaret Apartments next door. There are no gym or entertainment provided. The hotel has some computers in the lobby, hooked up to a printer, as well as free Wi-Fi throughout.
