The aptly-named Temple Pool is perhaps the most iconic of the pools at Caesars Palace, and certainly one of the most popular. Plush blue daybeds ring the circular pool's perimeter. Columns line the rectangular Neptune Pool, which sits adjacent to the Temple Pool but provides more space for splashing about. As of summer 2010, guests can also head to Garden of the Gods, a complex with eight unique pools and 44 cabanas, all stretched over three levels. The well-manicured, Italianate pool deck stretches over five acres on the hotel's fourth floor. The area includes three pools, a hot tub, cocktail service, and a poolside cafe. The hotel's Venezia tower (a 12-story addition that is home to 1,013 suites) has its own pool garden courtyard on the tenth floor, with two pools, two hot tubs, an outdoor shower, and cocktail and snack service provided by Bouchon Bakery during the summer. The pool at this downtown hotel features a three-story waterslide running through a shark tank, which shoots guests past sand tiger sharks, nurse sharks, and zebra sharks via a transparent tube. Plus, blackjack tables on the pool deck allow swimmers to gamble within view of the waterfalls and deck chairs. While the main pool here is nothing to write home about, we find the circular European Pool to be a calm oasis, a step removed from the bustle of The Strip. Adults-only can mean peace and quiet when the pool isn't too busy, and it also means that topless sunbathing is allowed. The Island Bar in the pool's center offers drinks, gambling, and prepacked sandwiches. Day beds can be rented for $150 per day. Although Mandalay Bay's pools may be a hit with the kids, parents may not love the crowds, which can make it difficult to find open lounge chairs. The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino has one of the best looking pools in Vegas, though visitors should be aware that things can get outrageously raucous during the Rehab pool party each Sunday. Hard Rock has multiple pools, and the Beach Club pool -- opened in the summer of 2010 -- is a good place to avoid the Rehab debauchery. The Beach Club pool The Mirage's pool deserves credit for its sheer size and its curvaceous appeal. Plus, she's a real stunner come nightfall. The pool area's hot tub hideaway makes you feel like you're somewhere in the Amazon (well, almost). The Bellagio's main building wraps around its exclusive guest-only inner sanctum -- a manicured Italian courtyard with 52 cabanas, four whirlpools, and five clear-blue pools (the biggest of which is seen here). Empty lounge chairs can be difficult to come across, as the pools are packed daily from noon to five. The poolside cafe serves full meals, and poolside drink service is available. But as is typical of many big Vegas hotels, pool waitresses are outnumbered by the throngs of guests, so expect a bit of a wait. The narrow part of Wynn's pool wins major points for style and uniqueness. Evergreen trees surround the pool area, creating plenty of shade as well as some nooks for a little privacy. The narrow part of Wynn's pool opens into a larger circular pool. Servers constantly circle the pool, bringing guests cocktails. But, by about 4 p.m. every day, the Wynn's 45-story tower blocks out half the pool's sunlight. The Wynn offers colorful, poolside cabanas that come with a stocked fridge, a cabana hostess, a plasma TV, and a misting system. The price for a one-day rental ranges from $300-600 (depending on the day). A large Mayan pyramid sits at the center of two free-form pools; on one side a cascade of water flows down from the steep steps to a pool buzzing with kids and lounging adults. There are Jacuzzis situated around the pyramid, including a particularly cozy one underneath the waterfall. On the other side of the pyramid (opposite the waterfall), four waterslides open up to a quieter, less crowded pool. The pool complex at MGM Grand is vast -- 6.6 acres to be exact -- and includes five pools with movie-themed names liked the Academy Pool, Directors Pool, and Producers Pool. The winding River Pool is shown here. The River Pool is one of the bigger and most interesting pools of the five, and features waterfalls, bridges, and rock outcroppings. Although the lazy river is kid-friendly, keep in mind that it can become quite the mingling scene at times.
