Cosmopolitan Hotel

The Cosmopolitan Hotel could easily be mistaken as a cafe from the outside, as its restaurant and cocktail bar take up most of its frontage on the street. Situated on the corner of a road just behind Leeds' main shopping street, it has a fresh appearance from the outside, with olive green window frames and a green striped canopy. Potted topiary lines the windows, and the entrance is tucked away from the sidewalk. The lobby is cozy, with Art Deco touches, and finished with dark wood furnishings, red lampshades, and bold patterned carpets. There's a small business center next the front desk, and a conference center where regular meetings and events are held, meaning there's a steady flow of business travelers passing through during the day. The adjacent restaurant and bar is spacious and modern, with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. The bar can get busy in the evenings and on weekends, but it's usually quiet during weekdays. You'll mostly see business guests here on weekdays, and tourists on the weekends. 

The hotel has an excellent location in the heart of Leeds city center. The property is situated on the corner of a crossroads, close to the banks of the River Aire. It's an ideal base for drinking and shopping, as it's a stone's throw away from the main shopping area and plenty of pubs. Trinity Shopping Center and Harvey Nichols are a five-minute walk from the hotel, while the immediate area is filled with numerous bars, restaurants, and nightclubs. It's a five-minute walk from Tetley's Brewery Wharf, and a 10-minute walk from Crown Point Shopping Park. There are plenty of attractions within walking distance, including Leeds Town Hall, Leeds Art Gallery, and Leeds City Museum. The O2 Academy is a 15-minute walk from the hotel, and the First Direct Arena is 10 minutes away on foot. The hotel is conveniently located for business travelers as well as tourists, with St. George's Conference Center a 15-minute walk away. Leeds Railway Station is five minutes away on foot, while Leeds Bradford International Airport is around a 30-minute drive, depending on traffic. Manchester Airport is roughly an hour's drive away. 

The Cosmopolitan Hotel has 89 rooms in a variety of sizes, ranging from standard single rooms to larger rooms with king beds. Triple Rooms are available, which are ideal for families or small groups. All rooms are similarly styled, with muted color schemes, patterned carpeting, and wood-finish furnishings. Some rooms have a more modern feel, while others are a little dated, with details like old-fashioned floral drapes and an abundance of pastel hues. Furniture is kept simple, with work desks and small closets, while larger rooms add separate seating areas. Standard features include free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, phones, electric kettles, hairdryers, ironing facilities, and ceiling fans. There's no air-conditioning, so rooms can feel stuffy during summer months. Bathrobes are oddly only offered on weekdays. Bathrooms are clean and simple, with neutral tiled walls, and all include shower/tub combos and a generous selection of free toiletries, like bath salts and ear plugs. Guests should note that front-facing rooms can be noisy at night as there's a nightclub across the street, so light sleepers should request a room at the hotel's rear. Keep in mind that some views are only of neighboring walls.
