My One Hotel La Spezia is a favorite with travelers looking for an overnight stay or a base from which to explore Cinque Terre without paying the region's high prices. While contemporary, the decor throughout isn't romantic or stylish enough to make an impression (the breakfast room is especially clinical), and next-to-no amenities are a disappointment. These downsides, along with reports of maintenance issues, make this hotel fall below its advertised four-star status. Uniquely, the lobby of the hotel is actually on the property's fifth floor, but public elevators shuttle guests up to that level.Unfortunately, many guests have complained of slow elevators. The property's lowest level opens out onto the city's main shopping street.

Those looking for a good base to explore Cinque Terre from will find the 12-minute walk to the central train station and its proximity to the ferry convenient; the port is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The region, as well as the towns of Portovenere and Lerici, are about 10 minutes away from La Spezia by train. Pisa International Airport is about an hour away by car, or 90 minutes by direct train.
