Chiado 16

Scene

Charming hotel with elegant mix of old world and contemporary style

Chiado 16 is set in a small structure from the 17th century that looks like a residential edifice from the outside, and opens up onto a quiet cobblestone street. The lobby has black wrought iron, plush purple velour chairs, mounted contemporary black-and-white photographs, and mosaic tile built-in benches. A low-ceilinged, wood-paneled room just off the lobby painted dusky lavender serves as a breakfast and meeting room. The hotel primarily attracts vacationing couples and the occasional small family. The atmosphere is polished with an artistic twist.

Depending on the size of the room, bathrooms may have a shower/tub combo, or separate soaking tub and stall shower. All bathrooms are airy and bright, are usually tiled in white, and some have freestanding tubs set near the window.
