Bottom Line

Radisson Blu Edwardian Bloomsbury Street is an upscale 174-room hotel in the heart of Bloomsbury adjacent to the British Museum and just East of Tottenham Court Road and the famous Oxford Street. Contemporary rooms have big flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and modern bathrooms but some rooms are on the small side and there have been some complaints about street noise. There is a sleek steak and lobster restaurant and bar on the ground floor. A central, prime location allows easy access to major attractions and London's airports.

Scene

Cool, chic, and contemporary hotel

The ground floor of the the hotel is impressive with the reception, lobby, and restaurant stretching along the length of Bloomsbury Street with large outward-facing windows. Bright and colorful modern art decorate the public areas of the hotel. Though the hotel has 174 rooms, the attention to art and design feels equivalent with what guests would find at a more boutique property.

Location

In Bloomsbury, close to many notable attractions

The hotel is located in Bloomsbury, around the corner from the British Museum. This hotel is also a short walk from Tottenham Court Road and Holborn Station, which have access to Heathrow Airport, Kings Cross Station, and Eustion Station via the London Underground. A short walking distance from the hotel is Oxford Street, Covent Garden, Leicester Square, as well as Soho and Piccadilly Circus.

Rooms

Well presented, but small

Some of the Bloomsbury's 174 rooms can be small, but this is a common complaint for hotels this central. The bedding and decor of the rooms are modern and chic, with several textures and color schemes (such as crimson red and ocean blue) throughout. All rooms include Samsung Smart TVs, free bottled water, hairdryers, and safes. Higher-end rooms have Nespresso machines. Bathrooms are well-stocked with free toiletries, heated towel racks, and are decorated with champagne-colored granite.

Features

Lots of extra features for different functions

The ground floor Steak & Lobster restaurant serves a wide variety of meals (not just steak and lobster!) and is reasonably priced for the area. Also on-site, there is a gym with up to date equipment and tech-friendly conference rooms. Reception is open 24-hours and offers currency exchange. Hotel-wide Wi-Fi and newspapers are both free.
