Park Plaza Lodge Hotel

The two-floor Park Plaza Lodge Hotel is a value hotel aimed at tourists and attracts couples, families, and solo travelers. The exterior of the hotel is well-maintained, featuring retro architectural designs and surrounded by palm trees, cacti, and greenery. There's also a small outdoor seating area with benches, patio furniture, and an umbrella. An emergency exit on one side of the building has green vines climbing up the walls.

Rooms are accessible via stairs in the bright lobby, which is kept locked late at night for security purposes, requiring guests to alert the 24-hour front desk if they come back late. The small reception lounge has comfy leather chairs, benches, and a flat-screen TV. The front desk is made of wood and blends in with the cozy atmosphere. Bottom floor hallways, and some hallways on the second floor, are open-air with tile floors, although interior hallways are carpeted. There’s an ice machine and microwave in the ground-floor hallway. 

Guests choose the Park Plaza Lodge Hotel primarily for its ideal location. It’s an eight-minute walk to The Grove mall and the Farmers Market. Around the corner is a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. There's a 7-Eleven across the street, next to the Pan Pacific Park, which screens outdoor movies part of the year. CBS Studios and Melrose Street each take around 20 minutes on foot. The Hollywood Walk of Fame and the TCL Chinese Theatre are 25 minutes by bus or just under 20 minutes by car. Universal Studios Hollywood takes just over 20 minutes by car or around an hour by public transportation. Driving to the Los Angeles International Airport takes a half an hour or so, depending on traffic. 

Rooms are traditional and homey, with wood furniture, small dining tables, red carpeting, and white walls that lack decoration, making rooms look unfinished. Some decor is slightly outdated and in minor disrepair. Amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, mini-fridges, and safes in wardrobe-style closets. Bathrooms are small but updated, especially for a budget property, with single sinks and glass walk-in showers; some have large tubs. Windows face the pool, the parking lot, or an alley. Room service is available. 

The hotel’s Fiddler's Bistro features red chairs, terra cotta tile floors, booths, and large teal framed windows that look out on a terrace with rattan chairs, umbrellas, foliage, and concrete floors. There are additional tables facing the street on another narrow patio that features a colorful restaurant scene mural. The bar is also casual with wooden stools and a flat-screen TV. 

The tiny outdoor pool is surrounded by a worn-looking deck furnished with white plastic lounge chairs and tables and surrounded by greenery. Parking and Wi-Fi are free, and the front desk provides basic concierge services, such as restaurant reservations.
