Summary

Pros

  • Directly on a nice beach
  • Beautiful main pool with ocean views, swim-up bar, and Jacuzzis, plus smaller second pool
  • Contemporary rooms with Jacuzzi tubs and kitchenettes
  • A Mexican restaurant, a sushi bar, and a poolside terrace with fusion cuisine and ocean views
  • Small spa with two treatment rooms, and a fitness center
  • Free snacks, tea, and welcome drinks
  • Free continental breakfast (though at very early hours, limited food)
  • All-inclusive option available

Cons

  • Waves on this stretch of beach are rough compared with beaches nearby
  • Fee for Wi-Fi
  • Some complaints of smoky-smelling rooms

Bottom Line

Although the mid-range, 100-room Bel Air Collection Resort & Spa isn't the most luxurious resort in Los Cabos, it has a pretty location along a gorgeous stretch of beach, a sprawling oceanfront pool with swim-up bar, and an optional all-inclusive plan. Thoughtful extras add value: welcome drinks, a continental breakfast (though it starts early, so late risers may miss all the good stuff), tea and snacks at sunset, petit fours with turndown service, and an excellent happy hour at the bar. On the downside, the rooms are a bit small compared with competing resorts. However, decor is contemporary, the bathrooms have jetted tubs, and the kitchenettes are handy when trying to save a few bucks -- there's even a grocery store within walking distance.

Location

On a busy highway dotted with hotels, and downtown San Jose del Cabo is just a short drive away

Map of Bel Air Collection Resort & Spa Los Cabos

Located on a busy street in the main hotel area of San Jose del Cabo, not much is within walking distance from The Bel Air Collection Resort & Spa -- its location directly on a beach is the hotel's main draw. Because it's just a mile or two to San Jose del Cabo's city limits, taxis into the thriving downtown area are relatively cheap.

Close to the party-hearty area of Cabos San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo is the more quaint, historic answer to a beach vacation in Los Cabos. The waters are rough, and there's less of a nightlife, but the area retains its Mexican flair and features numerous restaurants and galleries. It is also close to the airport.

  • 15-minute drive to Los Cabos International Airport
  • 5-minute drive to downtown San Jose del Cabo
  • 10-minute drive to Los Cabos Port
  • 30-minute drive to Medano Beach, known for its calm waters and packed beaches
  • 30-minute drive to downtown Cabo's party spots
  • 35-minute drive to great views of Land's End, a picturesque rock formation on the coast
