Cons

  • Nothing at the resort feels authentically Mexican (there isn't even a Mexican restaurant)
  • Aromatherapy in all public areas may overwhelm some

Bottom Line

Like its famous sibling in Cancun, the adult-only Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos feels like a world unto itself. This all-inclusive luxury property offers literally everything you could need for a week of indulgence. The style here is chic and contemporary, and almost every space is done up in bright hues and minimalist decor. It's a contrast to the more opulent style found at Grand Velas Los Cabos, which is Le Blanc's only direct competitor in the region. Rates include gourmet a la carte dining plus premium alcohol, and the food scores high marks from previous guests. The outdoor pool complex is easily one of the region's prettiest, and the spa -- while not quite as nice as the one at Grand Velas -- offers free hydrotherapy use.

Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos

Scene

A world unto itself wrapped in chic white decor, with a calm vibe and indulgent atmosphere

The Le Blanc brand is a chic counterpoint to the many all-inclusives resorts that pack Mexico's most famous beach destinations. In fact, their Los Cabos property is a world unto itself -- without the threat of screaming children or loud teens found at other nearby resorts. That's right -- Le Blanc is only for adults. This is the kind of all-inclusive where you'll find little reason to leave the grounds, since everything from food and drink to entertainment and a luxe spa are all found on-site. Decor throughout is contemporary, with white accents alongside tranquil neutral hues, touches of gray, hardwood, and marble. It all feels chic in a South Beach sort of way, though that does leave it feeling entirely removed from its setting in Mexico (there isn't even a Mexican restaurant on-site). To be clear: That's not an issue for the many devotees of this brand, and the light evening entertainment brings a bit of Latino flare to the experience. All in all, this is one of the nicest all-inclusives in Los Cabos. If you'd prefer a luxury alternative with all-inclusive rates and family-friendly amenities, check out Grand Velas Los Cabos instead.

Location

On the beach between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, amid other resorts

The corridor between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas is essentially one uninterrupted strip of beachside resorts. Le Blanc sits among them, equidistant from both towns. That keeps the area fairly quiet, and there is literally nothing within walking distance. It's about 20 minutes to San Jose or San Lucas by car, though there are a handful of cool things closer at hand. Since swimmable beaches are few and far between, the 10-minute drive to Playa el Chileno is a blessing. There, calm waters mean you can beat the Cabo heat without fearing for your life due to the dangerous surf found elsewhere. There are also some high-end retailers and restaurants at El Merkado, a trendy food hall that's also 10 minutes away by car. The cute town of Todos Santos takes a bit more than an hour to reach, while the airport -- outside of San Jose -- is around a 25- to 30-minute drive from the property.

Rooms

Spacious and tranquil, with balconies and beautiful bathrooms that feature separate soaking tubs and showers

The rooms here are done in a simple, modern style that will keep them looking fresh far longer than nearby competitors. Expect to see wood-laminate surfaces, upholstered statement headboards, white linens, and beige fabrics throughout. Neither art nor style suggest anything overtly local, maintaining the feeling that you may be anywhere in the world aside from Mexico. That doesn't mean they aren't nice -- in fact, even entry-level units are spacious and tranquil -- but they do feel a bit anonymous.Layouts range from single-room floor plans with windowside seating and desk areas to massive multi-room suites. All come with balconies, though only those on floors three and higher will feature views across the pools to the beach and sea. Otherwise, you'll have pool and garden views.

Standard features include Smart TVs, Nespresso machines, extensive minibars and snacks, tons of closet space, and beautiful bathrooms with bathrobes. Those bathrooms include separate rainfall showers and soaking tubs that open to the sleeping area, as well as dual sinks and dramatic marble tiling. Every floor has a dedicated majordomo during the day. They are available as a concierge and to attend to any housekeeping needs, including arranging a personalized aromatherapy program for your room.

Features

Numerous excellent restaurants, a beautiful pool complex, large spa, and generous all-inclusive rates

Much like its direct competitor, Grand Velas Los Cabos, Le Blanc Los Cabos has generous all-inclusive rates that cover everything from in-room dining to a la carte and buffet meals, top-shelf liquor, as well as all-day snacks and in-room minibars. There are numerous elegant dining spots that offer a wide array of food, though -- surprisingly -- you won't find a dedicated Mexican spot on-site. Mezze is easily the star of the show, with delicious Mediterranean and Middle Eastern fare (in fact, it's the only such restaurant in Los Cabos as of late 2018). Other guest favorites are the Italian and pizza options. There are also numerous bars to grab a cocktail, as well as a roster of evening entertainment in both Blanc Stage and its outdoor bar. Don't expect loud DJs or anything like that -- it was low-key flamenco music when we visited (a perfect match for the warm nights). Room service is included and available around the clock. All gratuities are included in rates as well.

This level of indulgence is matched by the hotel's leisure options. The pool complex, laid out like an arrangement of leaves next to the beach, is massive and lined with endless sun loungers. Poolside and beach service are, of course, included, though you can't swim in the ocean here (the surf is too dangerous, which is common in Cabo). For even more pampering, the spa takes up almost the entire second floor of the resort. The hydrotherapy circuit is free to use, though treatments and massages must be booked in advance and cost extra. There's also a great gym that has trainers as well as classes. You'll receive a complimentary drink and a warm shoulder wrap to help you unwind when you arrive. Valet parking and Wi-Fi are both free.
