Grand Lisboa

At over 800 feet, the iconic tower at the Grand Lisboa is a Macau landmark and its LED dome -- lit by over a million lights -- draws crowds of tourists day and night. The extravagant ethos continues in the bustling lobby, where everything shimmers and sparkles -- expect to see marble in-lay floors, massive columns, lots of mirrored surfaces, and lavish cascading crystal chandeliers. Fitting for Macau's glam image, there's a lot to see and do here, and the Grand Lisboa is a destination in its own right for visitors across the city. This property has eight restaurants including the sophisticated Robuchon au Dome, a Michelin-starred venue that's positioned in the peak of the dome with sweeping views overlooking the city. The hotel has a large casino with an entertaining live dance show, and the outdoor pool has a resort-like look, with a large waterfall feature, potted palms, and views of neighboring casinos. This flashy property is a good fit for travelers who are seeking to experience the casino side of Macau's personality, and the vibe is ready-made for couples and friends. 

The hotel is located right in Macau's Central Business District. There are several casinos within walking distance, and the hotel is connected to its sister hotel, Lisboa Hotel, by a bridgeway. It’s just over a 10-minute walk to the restaurants and bars making up the nightlife on Senado Square. The Ruins of St. Paul’s, a 17th-century landmark, are 15 minutes away on foot, while the scenic and lively Rua de Felicidade is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The Hong Kong-Macau ferry terminal takes five minutes to reach on the hotel’s free shuttle, and from there it's a one-hour ferry ride to Hong Kong. Both the Macau International Airport and the Cotai Strip, which is full of more casinos and hotels, can be reached within a 15-minute drive.

Rooms at Grand Lisboa are spacious and include a variety of lavish design choices. Like the hotel's public areas, there's an abundance of glass and shimmer, and the rooms are underpinned by a bevy of silver and gray hues with accents in aqua, black, and red. There are plush carpets underfoot, padded or tufted statement headboards, mirrored walls, contemporary dark wood veneer desks and end tables, and seating with whimsical silhouettes. Higher-category rooms have marble accents, and some rooms have artsy panels above the beds.

Certain rooms offer views of the South China Sea, while all rooms have flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Electric kettles with free tea and minibars stocked with free soda, water, beer, and juice are thoughtful extras. Marble bathrooms have TVs, rainfall showers, and separate whirlpool tubs. Bathrobes and slippers are provided as well as generous amenity kits including toothbrushes, shaving kits, hairbrushes, and Hermes toiletries. Suites are available with steam baths, and these rooms include a variety of extra amenities like spacious patios, kitchens, and living rooms big enough to host a party. The rooms definitely have a wow factor, though some guests may find the style to be too much. 

As Macau's most recognizable luxury property, this hotel has a large number features for its guests. The casino is large, with over 200 gaming tables and 800 slot machines. In true Vegas-of-Asia style, there are live shows with dancers and elaborate choreography on many nights. The eight on-site restaurants serve a variety of cuisine including Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, and American. Three restaurants here have earned Michelin stars: Roubichon au Dome, The 8, and The Kitchen -- and Don Alfonso is led by one of Italy's Michelin-star winning chefs. A 24-hour cafe is also available and breakfast is served, but not included with room rates. 

There’s a heated outdoor pool that sits at the base of the massive lotus tower overhead. It features a waterfall and a large jetted area as well as a small selection of lounge chairs. A luxe hotel and salon is also available. The hotel's modern fitness center has private instructors available, as well as a business center with two computers. The property has a shopping arcade, and free shuttle service is provided to the ferry and nearby casinos. A ballroom and meeting rooms are available for private events. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
