Sheraton Mendoza Hotel

Entering into an expansive lobby that's wide open with massive columns in the center, guests are greeted at check-in with a welcome drink. Regional and local artwork adds a unique touch throughout, and chairs scattered around the lobby provide places where guests can take a seat. The ambience is somewhat corporate, rather than cozy, though fans of Sheraton properties around the world will likely find little to complain about. The hotel attracts business travelers with work in the area, as well as guests attending events in the convention space. Families and couples also pass through, as well as gamblers visiting the casino.  

This hotel is located in the heart of the city, in the financial and commercial center, with many restaurants, shops, banks, and offices within walking distance. Plaza Independencia, the city's main square, can be reached in 10 minutes on foot. Teatro Independencia, the main performing arts venue, and the Municipal Museum of Modern Art, are both found there. General San Martin Park is a 15-minute drive away, or guests who like to walk can get there in 25 to 30 minutes on foot. Plan on about 20 minutes to reach Governor Francisco Gabrielli International Airport by car, or about an hour by public transportation. A bus stop can be reached in two minutes on foot from the hotel. 

Rooms and suites feature basic chain decor, with neutral color schemes that are mostly beige, plus dark wood furniture, upholstered headboards, and subtly patterned carpeting. Desks are paired with ergonomic chairs. Modern artwork adds a little color. Amenities in all rooms include air-conditioning and flat-screen TVs. Wi-Fi comes with a fee, except for SPG Preferred members who book directly (this loyalty program is free to join). Club Rooms and Suites are larger and add minibars as well as robes and slippers. Guests in these rooms also have access to the Club Lounge on the 17th floor, where breakfast is free, as well as snacks and drinks. Handsome bathrooms have marble countertops, separate tubs and showers, bidets, hairdryers, and magnifying mirrors. Half the rooms overlook the city, and the others view the mountains. The Presidential Suite offers a huge living and dining space, plus a kitchenette and a bathroom with a sauna.

This hotel offers a full array of features suitable for both business and leisure guests. The hotel's main restaurant, Acequias, serves all meals, including a breakfast buffet for a fee. Lunch and dinner menus feature regional and local fare. The Mirador Lounge restaurant serves drinks and light fare in the evening. Situated in the lobby, the striking Devas lounge also provides drinks and light fare, with a big-screen TV and billiard table. There's also a wine room, and room service is available 24/7.   

The solarium-style pool is open year-round. It's a bright space and the pool is long enough for swimming laps. There's a whirlpool at one end. Overlooking the pool, the fitness center has modern cardio and weight-training equipment. The full-service spa offers facial and body treatments, massage, hydro-massage, a sauna, and steam baths. 

Meeting space accommodates gatherings of various sizes, with a ballroom that can host 900 people. An attractive business center provides several computers and printers for guests to use, plus work and meeting spaces. On-site parking is available for a fee. 

The casino has table games and slot machines, and there's a bar there, too. The little guests get their own kids' club, with toys, games, and activities. Wi-Fi is free on the lobby level, but guests who aren't SPG members must pay for it in guest rooms. It's free to sign up, however.
