Bottom Line

Located on the topmost floors of the JW Marriott building, the 44-room Hotel Beaux Arts, Autograph Collection is a luxury property in Downtown Miami's Financial District. Aside from an exclusive dining and lounge area, all features are shared with the JW Marriott, making the high-tech, luxe rooms here the biggest differentiators between the two hotels. Rooms have iPads, marble bathrooms with separate bathtubs and showers, and floor-to-ceiling windows with excellent views. A daily fee gives guests access to an indoor basketball court, virtual golf and bowling, an outdoor pool, and gym. An upscale Mediterranean restaurant, casual cafe, and coffee bar are on-site as well. For a larger pool and more kid-friendly environment, consider the Four Seasons Hotel Miami

Hotel Beaux Arts Autograph Collection

Scene

Exclusive boutique hotel occupying top floors of the JW Marriott

As a boutique located inside of another hotel, the Hotel Beaux Arts, Autograph Collect can be hard to find. There's no signage on the street, just a placard off the lobby of the JW Marriott Marquis denoting which floor Beaux Arts guests can find check-in. However, the elevators are keycard activated, so visitors need to be given access by someone to make it up to the 39th floor. From there, the process is easy, and guests are given exclusive access to the Beaux Arts' three floors, including an all-day lounge. Because of its location inside of another, large hotel, it's easy for the boutique vibe of this property to get lost in the shuffle, particularly with all the shared features -- gym, pool, and spa, for instance -- and overall huge size of the building. In the end, it's all about the exclusivity, stellar views, and swish rooms.

Location

Convenient Downtown setting within walking distance of restaurants, sights, and public transport

Hotel Beaux Arts is located in Downtown Miami's Financial District. The majority of Downtown Miami's hotels are located here, as well as numerous corporate offices. Though it does not have a beach, many hotels have views of the bay. Attractions include museums, American Airlines Arena (five-minute drive), and the Adrienne Arsht Center of the Performing Arts (also five minutes away by car). Miami International Airport is a 15-minute drive away, while South Beach is 12 minutes away by car. For those without cars, the Riverwalk Metromover station is a five-minute stroll away, and the Fifth Street Metromover station is eight minutes.

Rooms

Sophisticated style and top-floor views, plus luxe bathrooms and high-tech features

The Beaux Arts' 44 rooms and suites pay homage to famous artists with names like O'Keefe and Warhol. Regardless of which artist guests choose, visitors can expect sophisticated, neutral-tone decor, floor-to-ceiling windows, and swish marble bathrooms with separate jetted soaking tubs and walk-in rainfall showers. Also standard are luxe Molton Brown bath products, comfortable king-size beds, and white-leather loveseats. Features like swiveling flat-screen TVs, iPads, automated drapes, and bathroom in-mirror TVs keep things feeling high-tech, while personal mixology sets with medium-sized liquor bottles (for a fee) add a chic, well-heeled touch. It's worth noting that minibars have sensors, leaving no personal space in the fridge. Espresso machines, electronic safes, and hairdryers, robes, and slippers are convenient.

Rockwell rooms start off strong with great city views, and every upgrade has increasingly better vistas over the bay and Downtown Miami. For stunning, in-your-face bay views, request a southeast-facing room, or go all out with stunning floor-to-ceiling corner views from a Warhol Suite.

Features

Private dining room and bar, but mostly shared features such as a spa and pool

Hotel Beaux Arts shares the majority of its features with the JW Marriott Marquis, though there is an exclusive 39th-floor lounge, L’Atelier, just for guests here. This chic, sophisticated space has a lounge feel on the bar side and a casual (though still upscale) vibe in the dining area. It serves cocktails, all three meals, and bar bites. Other food and drink options are shared between properties and include a Daniel Boulud Mediterranean restaurant off the lobby, the Intermezzo coffee bar, a casual sports bar, and breakfast spot 345 Restaurant. Room service is also available 24/7.

A full-service spa offers a range of treatments, plus a relaxation room and locker rooms with dry saunas. A decent fitness center has floor-to-ceiling windows sporting fantastic views over the Biscayne Bay. The space is divided into a weight room and cardio section, plus there's a yoga room with free classes for guests. Additionally, guests have access to an area stocked with table games and virtual setups for both golf and bowling, and a regulation indoor basketball court that sometimes hosts training for the Miami Heat. Use of these spaces and the 19th-floor outdoor pool area are included in the daily hotel fee. The pool has a whirlpool, first-come, first-served loungers, and food service, but no bar. Wi-Fi is free, while valet parking costs extra.
