Hyatt Place Miami Airport-West/Doral

The warm, comfy atmosphere of the Hyatt Place makes it popular with families and cruise ship travelers wanting budget-friendly rooms close the Port of Miami and not far from the Miami International Airport. The six-floor hotel has a circular driveway surrounded by palm trees. The lobby is furnished in contemporary decor, with leather chairs, pops of red, wooden furniture, and flat-screen TVs. The circular front desk features a wooden facade and a leopard print glass light design. On the other side of the desk is the Coffee to Cocktails Bar, which offers Starbucks coffee, cocktails, and baked goods. Beside the bar is the casual and bright breakfast room with a large buffet (included in room rates) and a few wooden tables and chairs. More seating areas are available throughout the lobby; some with flat-screen TVs. Hallways are standard chain hotel decor with patterned carpeting, and there are two elevators.

The Hyatt Place Miami Airport-West/Doral is located in Doral, at 36th Street and 82nd Avenue. The hotel is setback from the street, making it difficult for some to find. It's a 25-minute drive or ride on the hotel's free shuttle to the airport, while the Port of Miami takes 40 minutes to reach by car. There are a number of restaurants and fast-food joints within walking distance, including Miyako Japanese and El Tropico (both eight minutes on foot) and Burger King and the Buzzer Beater (which take six to seven minutes). The Miami International Mall is 12 minutes by car. It’s 45 minutes to the historic Coconut Grove neighborhood while trendy Coral Gables is a 37-minute drive.

All of the rooms at the Hyatt are non-smoking, but pets are allowed for a fee. Furnishings in Standard King and Double Rooms are simple but modern and stylish and include wooden headboards, silver wall sconces, gray carpeting, and white curtains. Rooms feature rotating flat-screen TVs, irons, alarm clocks with MP3 players, and writing desks. Cribs can be requested in advance. Partition walls separate beds from sitting areas, which come with gray sectional sofas. Kitchenettes are equipped with mini-fridges, sinks, and coffeemakers. Accessible rooms are also available, as are rooms with sofa beds. Bathrooms are basic and small, with white tiles and shower/tubs combos. 

The ground-floor business center comes with two PCs and a printer. The hotel also offer two spacious meeting rooms with traditional furniture that fit between 10 to 75 people, depending on the layout. Modern audiovisual equipment and catering is available on request and wedding services are available. 

The hotel's pool is clean and has a wheelchair lift. It's surrounded by a large deck with brown lounge chairs and a few patio tables with umbrellas. The small gym offers modern cardio equipment, a water cooler, a scale, extra earphones, weights, and towels. Snacks can be purchased at the on-site Gallery Market, which is open 24-hours a day.
