Bottom Line

The PULLMAN Miami Airport hotel (formerly Sofitel Miami) is one of the only upscale hotels near the airport, and delivers on everything the brand is known for -- feathertop beds, sophisticated style, and a little French flavor. The neighborhood has fast food restaurants and a CVS pharmacy. Expect a 30-minute drive to Miami Beach with traffic. Sophisticated rooms have ocean or city views and French Lanvin products in the bathrooms.

Scene

Art Deco touches, such as the statue of a person holding a lit orb, at this upscale chain hotel

The bright and airy lobby at PULLMAN Miami Airport has Art Deco touches such as black rotary style courtesy telephones, a large statue of a person holding a lit orb, and a sculptural curve to a portion of the white walls. Iron railings and marble tile floors add to the upscale vibe. Cold fruit-infused water and red velvet seating make the space an attractive and comfortable place to linger.

Location

In the busy Blue Lagoon section of Miami near the airport

While Blue Lagoon may sound like a tropical oasis, guests are more likely to see airplanes and McDonalds in this neighborhood than white sandy beaches and coconuts. This hotel attracts business executives and travelers looking for a luxurious night sleep before a flight. There isn't much in the way of tourism or destination restaurants in the neighborhood.

Rooms

Stylish rooms with flat-screen TVs, modern furniture, and feathertop mattresses

Sophisticated rooms at the PULLMAN Miami Airport are decorated in grays, whites, and purples. Each of the Superior and Luxury Rooms has a gray settee next to the window and dramatic abstract artwork hanging over the feathertop beds. A suite upgrade is required for an in-room Keurig machine and Bose radio. All rooms have views of the city or ocean, French Lanvin shower products, and flat-screen TVs.

Features

Swimming pool, French fusion restaurant, and 24-hour fitness center

The waterfall-style swimming pool is larger and more attractive than the pool found at the neighboring HYATT House Miami, and has comfortable chaise loungers. La Riviera, the French and Latin fusion restaurant on-site, offers elegant indoor and outdoor dining options plus a chic bar. The fitness center is nicely sized with ample room for yoga among the cardio and strength training equipment.
