Oyster Hotel Review
Beautiful, beachy chic boutique hotel
Inside the lobby of Sense Beach House, sand-toned walls, natural wood floors, and wicker furniture create a posh yet breezy feel while aqua vases and ship models is a nod to the nearby ocean. The elegant-airy vibe continues at Local House Raw Bar & Grill -- the hotel's restaurant -- with floral centerpieces, rustic lights hanging from ropes, and sheer curtains creating a lovely indoor dining space. Additional seating is available on the veranda, an attractive spot with potted plants and ceiling fans where guests can partake of the tapas-style cuisine. On the roof terrace, lounge chairs are lined up next to the pool and semi-circular couches offer additional seating.
In a quiet spot on famous Ocean Drive, a couple of blocks from the action
Sense Hotel is located on Ocean Drive in a quiet location, a couple of blocks away from the South Beach action, restaurants, and shops. The beach is a block away, and it’s a seven-minute walk to Lumus Park, the liveliest area of the oceanfront. American Airlines Arena (home of the Miami Heat) is within an 11-minute drive, and Miami International Airport is within an 18-minute drive.
Spacious, airy rooms with sleek bathrooms
The Sense's 18 rooms are modern with fashionable, breezy touches. Walls in a sea-foam green or sandy hue sport a mod stripe pattern echoed in the beds' pillows. White laminate furniture is paired with wood-toned tops, and crisp, white bedding and slate floors complete the stylish look. Lucite lamps, swivel chairs, and ceramic side tables add another layer of polish. Amenities include minibars, 46-inch flat-screen TVs, iPod docks, and Wi-Fi (included in the resort fee). Some rooms also have small balconies. Bathrooms are sleek with white tile contrasting against dark wood walls. Walk-in showers with rainfall showerheads, glass-topped vanities, and Molton Brown toiletries come standard.
