Sonesta Coconut Grove Miami brings is a mid-range hotel with an artsy side. The lobby's gleaming hardwood floors and glossy white paneled walls make for a soothing backdrop for Sonesta's contemporary art collection -- colorful prints, metallic sculptures, framed photographs, and mixed-media text works. Modern seating upholstered in icy-pale seafoam green leather, potted plants, and fresh bouquets provide more color. The hotel's style suits its Coconut Grove location -- the historic Miami neighborhood is known for its green parks, eclectic restaurants, and art galleries. 

Sonesta Coconut Grove is located in the charming and historic neighborhood of Coconut Grove. South of downtown Miami and the beaches, the Grove has long been known for its boutiques, eclectic restaurants, and art galleries. There’s plenty to explore in the immediate area, and downtown Miami is only a 10 to 15-minute drive. To get to Miami Beach will take longer, but the hotel is not far from Biscayne Bay. Though there’s no swimming beach, there’s plenty of sailing. Guests may be able to spot CocoWalk from their rooms, but the short walk to get there may feel a little uncomfortable due to the slightly heavy traffic. Still, guests can walk out in front of the hotel and see the yachts, parks, and plenty of places to eat, drink, and shop right around the corner.

Sonesta's nine room categories start with 280-square-foot Superior City View Rooms, which offer views of Coconut Grove and Coral Gables, and go up to 1,500-square-foot-plus, two-bedroom Palm Suites, which have panoramic ocean views. These two room types and all categories in between are equipped with 42-inch flat-screen HDTVs, coffeemakers, and work desks. Pillow-topped beds feature Serta mattresses and cotton linens. Superior (standard) rooms come with mini-fridges, while all other room types feature kitchenettes or fully equipped kitchens. Suite options -- such as the 900-square-foot, one-bedroom Biscayne Suite Bay View -- come with separate living areas.Good-sized bathrooms come with granite countertops, hair dryers, and Poggesi bath products. Air-conditioning, ironing equipment, and safes are provided in all rooms. Wi-Fi is free in the rooms, and cribs, extra beds, and cots are available.

Sonesta's flagship feature is its small rooftop pool and whirlpool, which are lined on one side by tangerine-colored cushioned loungers, wicker patio furniture, and wide white umbrellas. On the pool's other side is nothing but unobstructed views of Biscayne Bay. Poolside food and drink service is available. The terrace of the hotel's adjacent Panorama Restaurant features the same excellent views. Sonesta's rooftop fitness center overlooks the city and has new Cybex, LifeFitness, and Paramount strength-training and cardio equipment, plus locker rooms and a sauna. On the same floor are two well-maintained squash court that are popular with locals and hotel guests alike. In short, this is one of the best hotel gyms in Miami, but it's not open 24 hours.The hotel also has 17,500 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting and special-event space. Full catering is available, as are custom-made wedding cakes and bridal suites. Sonesta's business center features two PC desktop computers and a printer, but internet-surfing and printing cost a fee. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
