Bottom Line

The 43-room, mid-range Gonzo Inn caters to budget-minded dog-owners and outdoors lovers, offering a large lawn as well as bicycle storage and a repair station. There are also a breakfast area, a 24-hour laundry room, a seasonal pool, and a hot tub. Pet-friendly rooms and suites offer flat-screen TVs and patios or balconies; some have kitchenettes and whirlpool tubs. Breakfast, while free, is only available during the high season; for year-round on-site dining, the Best Western Plus Canyonlands Inn may be a better choice.

The Gonzo Inn

Scene

Pet-friendly value hotel with retro interiors and lots of green space

The Gonzo Inn is a two-story mid-range hotel with adobe-inspired exteriors. It's popular with budget-conscious leisure travelers who come to Moab to explore the national parks and prefer to be downtown near the restaurants and shops. Pets are welcome (for a fee) and there's a large lawn with trees and disposable pet waste bags. The interior decor features retro touches, colorful gecko decor, and Southwestern details. There's also a funky front desk with bar stools. Stairs lead to the rooms, but there’s no elevator.

Across from the lobby is the colorfully decorated breakfast room, featuring retro metal chairs and a large buffet counter with an espresso bar, microwaves, toasters, and a flat-screen TV. The room is bright thanks to large windows and glass doors that lead out to a patio area with colorful metal chairs. The business corner, also in the breakfast room, has a PC and a printer.

Slickrock Adventures is a two-minute drive from the hotel, while Red River Adventures is a four-minute drive away. Arches National Park is a nine-minute car trip, while Canyonlands National Park is 36 minutes by car.
