This 15th-century inn is situated within the walls of the Mont Saint-Michel, and is one of but a handful of hotels offering the possibility to stay in the monument town after the tourist crowds have departed for the night. The hotel is popular for its historic ambiance and it has centuries'-old features such as exposed wooden beams and low ceilings. Rooms at the Saint-Pierre are spread out over two buildings, and vary quite a bit in terms of size and noisiness. Like many of the other hotels on Mont Saint-Michel, the Auberge has an expensive restaurant that receives mixed reviews.

Let’s get the main question out of the way: What is a tidal island? Quite simply, it’s an island connected to the mainland by a low-lying land bridge that is crossable during low tide and submerged during high tide. The phenomenon occurs all over the world, but particularly in the United Kingdom. Take a look…
Oyster Hotel Review
Fifteenth-century architecture and in the middle of the tourist action
The hotel, like most of the others on the island, dates back to the 15th century; the main inn in particular has preserved a fair amount of the late-medieval aesthetic, even in its interiors. This old-fashioned ambience attracts a lot of tourists and many comment that the rooms fill quickly. Common areas, including the restaurant and the adjacent outdoor patio, have low ceilings, native stone, and whitewashed walls between old wood beams.
Just off Mont St Michel's main road, near the entrance
The Auberge Saint-Pierre is situated within the walls of Mont St Michel on a small side street, right off the Grande Rue and close to the entrance to the town. Visitors will need to park at a mainland lot and take the municipal shuttle, which stops a quarter mile from the hotel. Guests must walk the rest of the way and as some of the trudge is uphill on cobblestone roads, it's a good idea to keep luggage to a minimum.
Rooms are in two separate buildings and vary greatly in size and noisiness
The hotel is housed in two buildings: the main inn and a fishermen's lodge. Most of the rooms here retain at least a hint of the strong historic character of the buildings in which they are situated, through the presence of exposed beams, diamond-pane windows, and wooden shutters. Apart from these interior details, the rooms are modern, with off-white, country-chic wood furnishings and contemporary bedding with colorful accents. Rooms are on the small side, as are bathrooms, although many have a tub. The rooms at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the abbey receive a considerable amount of traffic noise beginning early in the morning from goods being transported to various businesses in the area. Guests have warned that some rooms look directly out onto the crowds queuing for the Mont St Michel; fishermen's lodge rooms seem to offer the most privacy. Beds may be on the soft side for some and there is no air-conditioning .
Designated parking lot; on-site restaurant gets mixed reviews
There is no parking at Mont Saint-Michel; in order to access the island, visitors must leave cars at a mainland parking lot and take a shuttle. The Auberge Saint Pierre has reserved parking for guests, in a lot accessible by digital passcode that guests obtain in advance of their stay. The hotel also has a restaurant that serves three meals a day; many describe the food as average, and breakfast in particular has received some negative views.
