The exterior of Les Terrasses Poulard has the same stone facade as many of the buildings on the island. The small lobby is an odd combination of industrial carpeting and low-beamed ceilings, and there's a large ship’s figurehead adorning the front desk. Some rooms are up multiple flights of stairs and there is no elevator. As with the other hotels on Mont Saint-Michel, rooms book up early. This hotel in particular happens to be especially popular with Japanese tourists.

As with all of the hotels on Mont Saint-Michel, guests who come by car have to park at a remote lot and take a shuttle to the base of the hill. There's no air-conditioning, but rooms do come with flat-screen TVs and minibars. The beds are comfortable, and there are fewer complaints here of street noise reaching the rooms than in some other hotels on the island. Rooms in the annex buildings have particularly impressive views of the bay. The combination shower/bathtubs have handheld shower hoses rather than wall-mounted shower heads.
