The Pine Lodge on Whitefish River

Pine Lodge has a typical mountain lodge feel. The exterior features tall wooden beams that hold up the porte cochere, complete with wooden balcony railings and beige paint. Inside, the lobby is simple with beige walls, a tiered reception desk, and a carpeted lounge area with sofas, a computer station, and a stone fireplace. The lobby leads into the breakfast room, which is a bright and open area with seating both inside and outside. The outside area is often favored by guests, with a large deck featuring a swimming pool, hot tub, seating areas, and sun loungers overlooking the Whitefish River. The large trees, lush lawns, and calm flowing of the river creates a serene atmosphere. Pine Lodge is mostly geared toward family or group travelers looking for low rates near the area's attractions.

Pine Lodge is located on the banks of the Whitefish River, and within a 10-minute walk to downtown Whitefish, which has several restaurants, shops, bars, and equipment rental places. Whitefish City Beach is a six-minute drive from the hotel. Lion Mountain State Park is an eight-minute drive while Whitefish Mountain Resort, with its numerous mountain activities, is a 15-minute drive from the property. It's a 35-minute drive into Glacier National Park, the World Heritage Site with beautiful mountains, lakes, and streams. There's a free shuttle service, the S.N.O.W. Bus, that travels between the main attractions, including the ski slops, Downtown Whitefish, and the airport. It's a 13-minute drive to the Glacier Park International Airport.

The 76 guest rooms at Pine Lodge are cozy and welcoming. Decor includes patterned carpeted floors, wooden furniture, comfortable sofas, and nature-inspired paintings hung on the walls. Amenities in all rooms include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, microwaves, coffeemakers, telephones, irons and ironing boards, and free Wi-Fi. Suites have bigger kitchenettes, electric fireplaces, and hot tubs. Bathrooms include shower/tub combos or walk-in showers along with hairdryers, makeup remover wipes, and Le Natural toiletries.

Some rooms features large glass doors leading out onto a small furnished balcony or terrace with views of either the river or parking lot. Selected rooms on the first and second floors are pet-friendly -- for up to two dogs with weight limits and daily fees. 

The two heated swimming pools, one indoor and one outdoor, are the main features at Pine Lodge. The outdoor pool includes a surrounding deck with a hot tub and sun loungers overlooking the river. There's a free continental buffet breakfast each morning, though it is quite limited with no hot options. There is no full on-site restaurant or bar. Don't expect much from the fitness center, the room is tiny and includes only three cardio machines and a flat-screen TV. There's a coin-operated laundry room, which also includes a vending machine and ice machine. On-site parking and Wi-Fi throughout the property are free. Additional features include pet-friendly facilities, internet-connected computer with a printer, luggage and ski storage facilities, free shuttle service to nearby activities, and free outdoor equipment to borrow (including bicycles, kayaks, and paddleboards).
