Selman Marrakech

Selman Marrakech is situated on a huge expanse of lush, landscaped grounds that includes multiple reflective swimming pools, beautiful courtyards with ponds, and two stables of Arabian purebreds. This elegant five-pearl hotel attracts mostly couples on a romantic getaway, though it does have some family-friendly perks like a kids’ club. The interior is just as beautiful as the outdoors. The lobby has a large glass chandelier that lights a Moroccan-inspired room with black and white tiled walls, posh contemporary armchairs and couches with wooden accents, and textured walls. Restaurants have a similar design with rich colors of red and purple, glass chandeliers, wooden elements, and patterned walls. The hallways allude to the horse stables with larger-than-life photographic pieces of horses. Though service is generally top-notch towards the upscale clientele, some guests have noted surprise charges to restaurant checks and room bills.  

Selman Marrakech is ideal for those who want a getaway from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. The hotel is a 16-minute drive to the city center of Marrakech and main attractions like the Medina, Jemaa El-Fnaa, and Bahia Palace. The closest points of interest are a golf course (seven-minute drive away) and the Oasiria Water Park (a three-minute drive or 16-minute walk). There aren't many dining options within walking distance, so travelers should be prepared to take a taxi or private car, which can generally be expensive. It’s a 10-minute drive to the Marrakech Menara International Airport.  

Selman Marrakech offers a range of luxurious rooms, all with a modern take on traditional Moroccan decor. There are beautiful ceilings -- some with crown molding and others with wooden slats -- lovely Moroccan tiles, chic patterned walls, and contemporary seating. Tones vary from room to room but are generally black and white with a splash of color. The overall vibe is sophisticated and upscale. All rooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs, minibars, espresso makers, free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, and safes. The patios are particularly lovely and spacious with comfy seating. Rooms with views of the pool are the most sought after. Bathrooms are chic with black and white tiles, and come with deep tubs, waterfall showers, toiletries, and hairdryers. Travelers can also book one of the five riads, which are private villas with private pools, gardens, and great lounge areas.  

Selman Marrakech’s signature feature is two stables with Arabian horses; guests can interact with the animals and watch them perform or graze. There are also the typical amenities of a five-pearl hotel, such as a hot tub and a few gorgeous outdoor pools -- some of which are heated and one which is reportedly the longest pool in the country. The hotel has an indoor pool in the spa, as well as a sauna, hammam, showers, salon, beauty treatments, and massages. The gym has limited hours, but provides modern cardio and weight equipment. As for dining options, a lavish breakfast buffet is provided each morning on the patio with simultaneous horse shows. Breakfast is generally an included supplement in the room rate, which means it’s free, but only to a certain price limit for each guest. The hotel has three restaurants, many of which offer traditional Moroccan dishes and have indoor and outdoor patio seating. There’s also a pool bar and 24-hour room service. Families are welcome here, with perks like a kids’ club with a play area, trampoline, bikes, and scheduled activities. There’s one multifunction room for events or meetings and plenty of outdoor spaces for events or weddings. Parking and Wi-Fi are both free.
