Lotte Hotel Moscow

The elegant Lotte Hotel Moscow has an impressive decor of glossy floors, marble front desks, large glass chandeliers, gold and silver accents, and chic and trendy furniture. There’s even an astounding atrium with a wall that features images from Russian history and a few other atriums with enormous hanging glass chandeliers. Opened in 2010, Lotte Hotel Moscow is general busy with sometimes long queues at breakfast or at the gym. There’s a definite business and upscale vibe to the place that’s immediately felt when people enter and find intense security checks at the front door. Despite being a large hotel with what could be a cold atmosphere, guests rave over the helpfulness of the staff, their high level of English skills, and how they make the service intimate. Children are restricted in some of the public areas, so this hotel is best suited to business travelers and couples. Both Russian and international guests stay here. 

Lotte Hotel Moscow doesn’t have an extremely central location but it’s not bad for those who have cars or don’t mind taking taxis. Next door to the hotel is an upscale shopping plaza, while the popular pedestrian Arbat Street is just a seven-minute walk away. As for major attractions, the Kremlin takes 13 minutes to reach by car and the Red Square is an 18-minute drive from the property. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. It’s about an hour’s drive to Domodedovo Moscow Airport. 

Rooms are comfortable and include elegant decor that features rich patterns and fabrics, high-end wooden furniture, and plenty of space to spread out. The hotel also has the largest Royal Suite in Russia with a dining room, separate living spaces, study, kitchen, bulletproof glass, and a bathroom with a whirlpool bath and sauna. Rooms have all of the amenities expected of an upscale hotel. There are flat-screen TVs, DVD players, free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, free bottled water, a digital control panel to manage in-room tech, and safes, but they lack minibars and capsule coffeemakers are only included in the pricier room categories. Bathrooms are similarly elegant with marble sinks, separate showers and tubs (some of which have whirlpool features), free Molton Brown toiletries, and hairdryers. Some rooms have uninterrupted views of Moscow. Chocolates and treats are provided during turndown service. 

Lotte Hotel Moscow has one feature highlight after another. Guests have free access to the Balinese-inspired spa’s sauna, steam room, and hot tub, plus the chic indoor pool with mood lighting and a large fitness center with various cardio and weight equipment. There’s also a hair salon, plus beauty treatments and massages available in the spa, with an emphasis on bridal packages. Take note that children under the age of 7 are not allowed to use the pool or hot tub, and children under 18 cannot enter the fitness center. 

Dining options are plentiful here. Ovo is an Italian restaurant with a Michelin-star chef, while Megu is a trendy Japanese restaurant. The Lounge is a laidback environment with drinks and small meals, while the Terrace is an outdoor seasonal lounge. A hot and cold breakfast buffet with Asian and Western items is free for those who book through the hotel’s website. Room service is available. 

Business travelers are well taken care of here with six fully-equipped banquet halls, a business center with printing options, free Wi-Fi throughout, and a Club Lounge with free buffets throughout the day and plenty of workspace (for those who book certain room levels). Underground parking is free on-site.
