Paradise Beach Resort

This no-frills hotel attracts young party-goers looking for a budget-friendly place to sleep and little else. Blocky white buildings are spread over paved streets and walkways with a few trees scattered throughout the property. Colorful murals adorn many buildings, with styles varying from cartoonish and crude to funky renditions of the local scene. The campground has more vegetation and shade from trees, with dirt lots lined up in rows across the street from the beach. Noise from clubs on Paradise Beach and from other guests in their rooms permeates the hotel, so those looking for a relaxing vacation should look elsewhere. However, for those in need of a cheap place to crash between the beach and clubs -- and not picky about cleanliness -- this place fits the bill. 

Paradise Beach Resort and Camping sits right along the beach on the southeastern shore of the Greek island of Mykonos. The small beach has clubs, but there’s little else in the area. A taverna and an internet cafe are a three-minute walk away. It is a 15-minute drive -- by car or the hotel’s free shuttle -- to the town of Mykonos and the port, where many ferries come to the island. The town is full or restaurants, shops, museums, and sites to explore. Mykonos Island National Airport is a 10-minute drive from the hotel. 

Room options at this hotel range from hillside Apartments above the beach, to standard hotel rooms, to campsites with communal bathrooms. Standard Rooms are tiny and simple; expect white walls with sections of exposed stone, hard floors (stone or tile), and basic furniture. Bedspreads and curtains tend to be colorful with busy patterns. Wardrobe offer a few shelves and hanging space, and there are desks with small built-in safes and mini-fridges. Bathrooms are also tiny and basic, with curtained walk-in showers that have a small lip to catch water. These rooms can accommodate one to four people, and roomier apartments can sleep four or five. Both room types are air-conditioned, and apartments include housekeeping and balconies with ocean views. 

Beach Cabins are, no-frills simple spaces with limited furnishings. They have power and doors that lock. Cabins and the campgrounds have communal bathrooms which are in poor condition and often dirty. Guests complain of broken sinks and toilets, and unsatisfactory housekeeping. Still, the price attracts many young partiers on a budget. 

The beach is the main attraction of this hotel. It is a popular party spot and attracts a boisterous crowd with bars and loud music. Beanbag loungers, padded sunbeds under tiki umbrellas, or cabanas are available, all for a fee. The self-service beachfront restaurant serves three meals daily, which tend to be pricey, but are more convenient than heading into town for a meal. The free breakfast is very simple -- usually coffee, juice, and croissants -- while a more varied spread is available for purchase. A mini-mart offers snacks, sundries, and camping equipment for convenience. Equipment for water sports is available for rental on the beach. Transportation to popular areas of town is available to guests, for free. Wi-Fi is available for a fee.
