Rhenia Mykonos

Overlooking the crystal clear Aegean Sea and busy marina, the Rhenia Hotel offers a stunning and ever-changing vista. Quietly situated on a rocky hillside, it has a secluded feel and relaxed atmosphere, popular with couples and families who want to get away from it all. Built in 1966, it consists of traditional buildings and bungalows, bathed in white paint and accented with blue wooden shutters. Decor is simple and modern, blended with traditional elements. The spacious lobby is brightened with white walls and pristine white couches, while vintage typewriters and antique writing desks add an Old-World vibe. The hotel has plenty of nice spots to take a break, including the small sea-facing pool, which is lined with decked seating areas and nautical-stripe cushions. The property's surrounding gardens are a beautiful place to explore, featuring vibrant flowers and a variety of fruit trees. There are a few surprises too, such as a small hidden chapel, swinging hammocks, and a family of animals including turtles, rabbits, and kittens. 

Set away from the noise of Mykonos Town, the Rhenia Hotel is located on a hilltop overlooking the Aegean Sea, Delos Island, and the New Port of Mykonos. The hill leading up to the hotel is very steep, which may be hard for travelers with mobility issues. The shops, bars, and restaurants of Mykonos Town can be reached by car in 10-minutes, and within 15-minutes by the water taxi, which is accessible from the bottom of the hill. Alternatively, it's a 30-minute walk along the coastline. There isn't a great deal of activity in the immediate area, but there are a few local restaurants and mini-markets within easy walking distance. The sandy Agios Stefanos Beach is just a 10-minute stroll from the hotel, with numerous beach bars and Greek restaurants. The island has plenty of other beaches to explore too, including Paradise Beach, Super Paradise Beach, and Elia Beach. Many travelers rent cars or bikes to get around, as there aren't many taxis on the island. The airport and port are around a 10-minute drive from the hotel. 

This 36-room hotel consists of guest rooms and family-sized bungalows. All rooms are simply decorated with white walls, billowy drapes, and soft white Egyptian-cotton bedding. Furniture is kept minimal, with whitewashed wooden wardrobes, dressers, and bedside tables, while fresh flowers and embroidered decorative cushions add a splash of color. Modern technology includes flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, phones, safes, and mini-fridges, while free bathrobes, slippers, and bottled water add a nice touch. All room types have furnished balconies or terraces, some with sea-facing views. Bathrooms vary slightly in style, with old-fashioned tube hairdryers and tired-looking showers giving Standard Rooms a dated feel. All bathrooms include a shower/tub combo or walk-in shower, plus large white sinks, big mirrors, and basic free toiletries. 

The hotel's central feature is the small outdoor pool. Lined with sun loungers and seating areas, it offers lovely views of the sea and port. There is also a small poolside bar, serving drinks and snacks throughout the day, such as beer, sandwiches, and pizza. A simple American breakfast buffet is served in the indoor/outdoor breakfast area every morning, including eggs, bacon, cereal, juices, and coffee. There's a small cocktail bar in the lobby, and a traditional Greek chapel located within the gardens. Other services include in-room massages, room service, laundry, dry cleaning, car and bike rentals, free tea/coffee in the public areas, free parking, and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. The hotel offers a transfer service to and from the airport and port, but there is an additional fee for this.
