The paneled ceiling, light-wood front
desk, and tile floors of the Carolina Winds' lobby seriously date it. The beach-themed decor includes a couch covered in a palm-leaf design below a painting of the ocean. But guests, mostly families, aren't drawn here for the decor. They come to frolic in the outdoor pool or float on inner
tubes along the small lazy river. Views from the pool area are of palm trees and the ocean. And blue lounge chairs lined up on the lawn offer guests another spot, aside from the beach and the pool area, to catch some sun.

Carolina Winds is located on the
northern end of Myrtle Beach near residences and condos. It’s farther away from
the major tourist attractions and action, but Broadway at the Beach and the SkyWheel are within
a 15-minute drive. Pine Lakes Golf Course is within a six-minute drive. There
are several restaurants within walking distance, including Cheeseburger in
Paradise and Bonefish Grill. It’s about a 25-minute drive to Myrtle Beach International Airport.
