The upper-middle-range Hilton Mystic has modern nautical designs inspired by the seaport, and a location across from the Mystic Aquarium. The entire hotel was remodeled in 2015 to include a stylish bar and restaurant, plus chic glass fireplaces on the outdoor terrace. Natural light fills the indoor pool and the gym is modernly equipped with Precor cardio machines. Gray interior design schemes create a modern feel in the 182 rooms, which offer mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and in the suites, whirlpool tubs. In addition to tourists, many business travelers stay here to use the hotel’s multiple conference spaces, including ballrooms; they'll likely also find the 24-hour business center and 24-hour market convenient. Pets, however, aren’t allowed, unlike at the nearby Hyatt Place Mystic.
Scene
Nautical design and more style than the average chain hotel
The design scheme in the remodeled Hilton Mystic is sophisticated with a maritime feel that was inspired by the Mystic Seaport’s brick mills. The Hilton Mystic completed an eight-million dollar renovation in 2015 to its common areas, rooms, pool, meeting spaces, and other facilities. The brick four-floor exterior of the hotel features green window trim. Industrial interior designs create a hip atmosphere in the lobby, which features lighted letters that spell out Mystic on the pillar dividing two reception desks. Historic photos and porthole windows line the hallway. A terrace attached to Irons bar and restaurant is set with stylish striped sofas and glass fireplaces under strings of lights crisscrossing the ceiling. The location across from Mystic Aquarium attracts mostly tourists. Business travelers also stay at the Hilton Mystic, to take advantage of the meeting facilities, 24-hour market, and 24-hour business center.

On Coogan Boulevard, a close walk to the Mystic Aquarium

Mystic Pizza, which inspired the 1988 Julia Roberts movie by the same name, is a five-minute drive. Travelers can hop on the free shuttle from the hotel that goes within a five-mile radius, if they don't want to drive. The shuttle also goes to Mohegan Sun Casino and Foxwoods Resort Casino for an additional fee. The I-95 is three miles from the hotel and it’s a five-minute drive to the Mystic Amtrak Station. The Bradley International Airport is over one hour by car and Groton New London Airport is 15 minutes away. Outdoor parking is free for guests at the hotel.
