Review Summary

  • Small, drab fitness center with limited equipment
  • No restaurant (free breakfast only)
  • Some rooms need an update

Bottom Line

The Harvest Inn is a great choice if you're daydreaming of a luxury stay in the heart of wine country -- complete with impressive views, Old World rustic charm, and luxe amenities. It may be a bit pricey (and has no full restaurant), but it certainly doesn't skimp on the pampering, offering fireplaces, private terraces, designer furnishings, two pools, a spa, and more. Numerous freebies -- including a bottle of wine for new guests, water and juice in the mini-fridges, Wi-Fi, and self-parking -- ensure that guests feel cared for rather than nickel-and-dimed, and the location one mile from St. Helena is superb. But the biggest draw just might be the spectacular views, especially from the Vineyard View Rooms with terraces.

Oyster Hotel Review

Right in the heart of Napa Valley, one mile from the shops and restaurants of downtown Saint Helena

Map of Harvest Inn

The eight-acre grounds of the Harvest Inn are breathtaking. Flanked by wineries and impressive vineyards on both sides, it's amidst some of the world's best wineries.

It's a calm oasis just one mile outside St. Helena -- arguably one of the top gems of Napa Valley. St. Helena is full of beautiful 19th-century-style architecture, and some of the best shopping in the region. Home to the West Coast headquarters of the Culinary Institute of America, this quiet town has become one of the most popular foodie destinations in California, and upscale travelers pour into the pricey hotels and expensive boutiques. However, the town remains a quiet place surrounded by great hiking and bicycling trails.

  • 95-minute drive to San Francisco International Airport OR Sacramento International Airport
  • Surrounded by wineries and vineyards open for tours and tastings (walkable)
  • 1-minute drive to downtown Saint Helena's cafes and shops
  • 15-minute drive to the Mount St. Helena Golf Course
  • 22-minute drive to the Petrified Forest Museum
  • 25-minute drive to Napa Valley Opera House for music and theater performances
  • 80-minute drive to downtown San Francisco
