Bottom Line

The 100 apartment-style rooms here are essentially individual condominiums, with most of the comforts of home, including full kitchens, washer/dryers, and screened-in porches. The property consists of three-story stucco buildings in an earthen-colored rose, and there’s a vague nod, architecturally, to the structure of an Italian villa. A particular advantage of the hotel, besides guest-room conveniences, is its proximity to Fifth Avenue, which constitutes one of the main luxury shopping and dining drags in this upscale community. Shops from Chico’s to Starbucks are within a 10-minute walk of the property.

Scene

Typical three-story stucco apartment buildings with Venetian-style accents

The hotel’s Italian influence is fairly minimal. The three-story buildings that surround the outdoor pool are topped by terra-cotta roofs and accented by the occasional archway. The slightly formal lobby, with its wood floors and beamed ceilings, resembles a grand university lounge. The space added new red armchairs and a few Oriental rugs after our visit. The grounds are fairly frills-free with well-tended gardens. The overall effect is one of a well-kept condominium building. Families and couples constitute many of the guests staying at this calm property.

Location

Less than half a mile from the shopping area of Fifth Avenue

The
hotel is situated within a few blocks of one of the most popular shopping areas
in Naples, a strip of a half-dozen blocks along Fifth Avenue filled with
restaurants, cafes, and shopping, including spots like Island Trends, Altered Elements, Chico’s, Mangrove
Cafe, and Starbucks. Still, the property is situated on a highway-like road
called the Tamiami Trail, which it is necessary to cross in order to reach
Fifth Avenue. A hotel-sponsored shuttle runs throughout the area in the day. Southwest Florida International Airport is about 45 minutes north.

Rooms

Full kitchen in apartments with Venetian accents and lanais

Like
the rest of the property, the rooms have a few minimal nods to Venetian decor:
carved stone headboards, taffeta curtains in jewel colors, and a few paintings
depicting the Italian countryside. Apart from these touches, the apartments are plain,
but outfitted with a large number of practical amenities. All rooms have full
kitchens with microwaves, full stoves with electric ranges, dishwashers, drip
coffeemakers, toasters, and serving and dining dishware. Units also
have flat-screen LCD TVs, screened-in lanais, iPod docking stations, safes, Caswell-Massey
toiletries, and washer/dryers. Some guests have commented that the rooms can be
very dark, even in the day, owing to shade created by the lanais. Also, in
each studio, the only divider between the sleeping and bathroom areas is an interior shutter, which visitors may want to be aware of for
washroom privacy. Larger rooms have more than one TV.

Features

A saltwater pool with hot tub, small fitness center, and spa

Guests
enjoy the free local papers and magazines available in the lobby, which can be helpful in planning vacation activities. A small convenience store sells a modest
selection of gifts, as well as practical items like toothbrushes and sunglasses.
The fitness center has a few exercise and weight machines. A small outdoor,
saltwater pool can be found in the center of the property with a nearby hot tub. And Esterra Spa offers an array of treatments that include hot stone massages and hydrating wraps. Meeting rooms and event spaces are available as well.
