Bottom Line

This hotel was impacted by Hurricane Irma in September 2017. We will update our review as soon as we have more information. The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples is a 295-room, five-pearl property with a Mediterranean style located about a 10-minute drive from the beach. For those who can afford its high rates, the property offers VIP service and plenty of luxe amenities, including a golf club with two PGA-level courses. The heated outdoor pool, spa with treatments for golfers, and two restaurants make this a good option for golf enthusiasts, as well as families who don't want to leave the resort confines. Top-notch rooms and suites have balconies, premium movie channels, and marble bathrooms -- but no free Wi-Fi. Sand-seekers may prefer the Naples Grande Beach Resort, which offers a similar array of amenities plus a beachfront.

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples

Scene

Golfers' paradise with relaxed atmosphere and impeccable service

This Mediterranean-style golf resort features a sprawling main building with clay-tile roofing and soaring Italianate columns. Inside the lobby, decor has a masculine feel: dark wood, low lighting, and brown leather. But the rest of the resort has a sunnier vibe, including the beige-carpeted hallways lit by chandeliers and decorated with colorful abstracts or classic paintings. Pathways wind around the grounds, revealing fountains, rows of palm trees, and adirondack chairs around fire pits or gazing across the landscape. As expected for a five-star Ritz-Carlton staff are always present to offer anything guests might need, and interiors are spotless and organized. It all adds to the high-end feel that comes with being home to two PGA-level golf courses. The fact that the resort is somewhat secluded means it has a quiet and low-key atmosphere that typically draws golfers, socialites, and families. Guests looking to spend more time exploring Naples on foot might prefer the Ritz-Carlton Naples, located 10 minutes away at the beach.

Location

Secluded setting a 10-minute drive from the beach

The property is located in Naples, along the Gulf of Mexico. Protected wetlands surround the area, namely Everglades National Park (an hour drive away). There's nothing located immediately around this resort -- other than a steakhouse, sports bar, and Starbucks about five minutes away by car (or 20 minutes on foot). There are more than 80 golf courses in Naples, including the two on-site, and many are within a 15-minute drive. Other local excursions include Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens, about 20 minutes' drive away, and Naples Botanical Garden, about a half-hour drive away. Downtown Naples, a 25-minute drive away, offers dining and shopping with Gulf Coast views. Naples Municipal Airport is a 20- to 25-minute drive from the resort.

Rooms

Classically decorated in soothing tones, with marble bathrooms

Rooms at this property are large and not overly modern, keeping a classic look with clean lines and simple patterns. Decor is done in muted earth tones of cream and tan, and includes British-Colonial-style wooden furniture and leather headboards. Floors are carpeted in soft gray while walls are decorated with mosaic-tile mirrors and coastal photography. Views are of the resort grounds or golf course, and all rooms have small balconies with seating or Juliet-style in some.

All rooms measure 470 square feet. Amenities include capsule coffeemakers, well-stocked minibars, and flat-screen TVs with premium movie channels, but no free Wi-Fi. Elegant bathrooms have white-marble tile, long well-lit vanities, showers, and separate tubs. Robes, slippers, and luxurious Asprey toiletries are provided. Special treatments such as overnight laundry service are also offered, plus nightly turndown.

One-bedroom suites have a similar decor to rooms and measure between 750 and 2,000 square feet. Each has a parlor with French doors, save the Presidential Suite, which has the option of connecting rooms. Some have one-and-a-half bathrooms.
