Four Points by Sheraton Nashville Airport

Situated near the airport and attracting travelers that are either arriving or departing from Nashville, this mid-range hotel is a clean and pleasant chain property that's reliable and convenient. It has a contemporary corporate feel, and though decor is chainlike, common spaces are inviting and pleasant. Hints of Nashville heritage creep through, like the giant wooden flag hanging over the airy lobby. A cozy lounge area bathed in brown and red hues has seating by a fireplace and shelves stylishly stocked with knickknacks. The restaurant displays the same color scheme, with wooden tables and chairs, high tops, and booth seating.

Clientele is composed mainly of those bound for the airport, and most guests stay just for a night. It's not too far from the city center, though, so some travelers do stay for longer. 

The hotel is situated off the main road that leads to the airport, which is about a five-minute drive away. It's a prime spot for airport-bound guests that are seeking convenience and proximity to the airport, plus the hotel offers a free shuttle service. The area is home to many other chain hotels and there are a couple of fast food dining options and chain restaurants (Panera Bread, McDonald's, Waffle House) within a 10-minute walk. Nashville's city center is around a 20-minute drive from here, or around an hour via public transportation (a bus stops a six-minute walk from the property). It's about a 15-minute drive to the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Other popular attractions accessible by car include a replica of the Parthenon, the Ryman Auditorium, Music Row, and the Hermitage, all of which are about a 20-minute drive away. The Belle Meade Plantation is around 25 minutes away.

Rooms are spacious, with chainlike contemporary decor that's generic and has a corporate feel. But the spaces are clean and large -- even entry-level Traditional Rooms have sitting areas with couches. Striped red, black, and beige carpeting is paired with cream walls and dark wood furniture like large work desks with ergonomic chairs. Suites have even more space and add wet bars. Traditional Rooms start out at 230 square feet (about 21 square meters) and can sleep up to four guests. Suites add even more space, measuring 285 square feet (26 square meters). Accessible rooms are also available.

All rooms are supplied with 42-inch flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers with free coffee, mini-fridges, electronic safes, radio/alarm clocks with iPod docks, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms (even in the suites) are small and simple, with roomy granite-topped sink vanities that offer a solid amount of storage space, as well as shower/tub combos with wall-mounted shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel dispensers. 

A handful of features add convenience and value to a stay here, one of the main perk being the hotel's restaurant, Virtue. It's a casual space that serves American comfort food for breakfast and dinner, plus it offers a daily happy hour. The hotel's Best Brews program means that there are craft beers on the menu, with an emphasis on seasonal offerings and locally sourced brews -- especially popular during happy hour. Room service is also available. There's a small shop that sells snacks, drinks, and sundries.

The fitness room is rather small, and it doesn't offer many machines, but the Life Fitness cardio equipment it does have -- treadmills, an elliptical, and a stationary bike -- is modern and offer built-in TV screens. There are free weights as well, plus bottled water is on hand. The hotel also has an outdoor pool that's open seasonally.

The hotel has a business center as well as offering meeting facilities, plus Wi-Fi is free throughout. Free parking is available on the hotel's lot, and there's a free airport shuttle service that runs on request.
