Omni Nashville Hotel

The upscale Omni Nashville Hotel occupies a sleek building made of white stone and blue reflective glass. Its lobby is vast, with glossy floors, large ring-shaped lights hanging from the ceiling, and upholstered furniture clustered here and there on large rugs near a long wall of windows. An elegant niche warmed by a large fireplace offers seating on maroon velour couches and leather armchairs, while the book-lined walls give it the feel of a handsome library. Hallways on the first floor are spacious and dotted with bird-themed art pieces, while the interior corridors on other floors have multi-colored carpets with paisley designs. Kitchen Notes, the hotel’s Southern restaurant, features elegant, rustic decor that includes wooden floors, brick walls, white marble tables, and gray, tan, or white modern chairs and booths. In contrast, Bob’s Steak and Chop House is luxurious with red velour round booths, tables with white linens, and a display of vintage radio microphones. Barlines has a design that reflects a typical sports bar: wooden picnic tables, a long gray bar with wooden bar stools, and a number of large flat-screen TVs. The hotel mainly attracts a business crowd who can be seen utilizing the meeting spaces for conferences or having a drink or dinner in one of the many restaurants, though couples and leisure tourists are frequent visitors as well. 

The Omni Nashville Hotel is conveniently connected to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and sits across the street from Music City Center. Located downtown, the hotel is not far from attractions like the Walk of Fame Park, which is a five-minute walk away, and the Johnny Cash Museum, an eight-minute walk. Some local attractions like the Parthenon (a full-scale replica of the Parthenon in Greece), require a short car ride --  in this case 15 minutes. The Grand Ole Opry takes 20 minutes to reach by car. Opry Mall and the Mall of Green Hills are 15 minutes away by car. A variety of dining options can be found on surrounding streets. To travel around downtown Nashville for free, guests can hop on the Music City Circuit bus from the Country Music Hall of Fame. The Nashville International Airport is a 10-minute car ride, or about 20 minutes via public transportation (the bus stops about a five-minute walk from the hotel).

The 800 rooms and 54 suites are decently sized and full of natural lights thanks to floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows that offers views of downtown Nashville. Pleasant, contemporary decor includes beige linens, blue and maroon floral pillows, and blue and gray patterned carpets paired with glossy wooden furniture and maroon-hued patterned armchairs. It’s a sophisticated design with a trendy twist. Suites have a similar look with musical decor elements. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, and bottled water, while Suites have the option of a separate living room. Bathrooms are well sized with spacious, black granite counter tops, rectangular porcelain sinks, and lighted vanity mirrors, as well as either shower/tub combos or walk-in showers (suites have both). For a hotel with a Good Night’s Rest policy (which asserts that they can ask any loud guests to leave immediately after 10:30 p.m.) there have been complaints about thin walls and bothersome noises from the hallways and the nearby train. Some guests also complain about spotty Wi-Fi, which is an extra fee. 

Guests at this hotel can begin their day with a breakfast buffet in Kitchen Notes, the hotel’s traditional Southern restaurant, though it incurs a costly fee. Lunch, dinner, and a Biscuits Bar are also available. Bob’s Steak and Chop House serves dinner, while live performances, lunch, and dinner can be had at the hotel’s sports bar, Barlines, late into the evening, plus room service is available 24 hours. Bongo Java is an on-site coffee shop that serves organic coffee and gourmet pastries. Guests have noted that on-site dining is pricey, however. The hotel has a lovely rooftop pool and hot tub as well as a large 24-hour fitness center that has a wide selection of cardio machines with TVs, weight machines, and free weights. There’s a spa that provides massages, beauty treatments, salon services, and packages that include lunch. The 80,000-square-feet of meeting and event spaces are fully-equipped with audio-visual equipment, plus there’s a full-service business center. Wi-Fi is free in the lobby only, though complaints have been made concerning connectivity issues. The hotel’s large gift shop, Five & TENN, sells upscale items like cowboy boots, fine apparel, home decor, and jewelry. Families can make use of the Omni Sensational Kids program, which provides kids with a backpack filled with nutritional-related activities and items. There’s self or valet parking for a costly fee.
