Radisson Hotel Nashville Airport

The three-pearl Radisson Hotel Nashville Airport is set in a white, rectangular, nondescript building. The interior of the hotel is a mixed bag of styles -- the lobby has a bright and contemporary look, with sleek white tile floors and gray marble accents, but this doesn't carry through to guest rooms. There is a cluster of stylish charcoal couches surrounding a large flat-screen TV in the lobby, plus a small snack and drink corner located next to the front desk. The area is open and bright, and has a convivial, coming-and-going atmosphere with plenty of airport-bound guests. The restaurant sits next to the lobby, and while it is also modern, the vibrantly patterned carpet isn't the sharpest we've seen, and speaks to a flaw that runs through the private areas of this hotel: overall, the vibe is pleasant and straightforward, but some details are a little tired. There is a vaguely executive atmosphere about the property, created in part by the many business guests who stop here in transit to the airport, but clientele ranges broadly and includes couples and families as well.

This hotel is located about two miles -- approximately an eight-minute drive or shuttle ride -- from Nashville International Airport. There are several other hotels nearby, along with some restaurants and fast food chains that can be reached in 10 minutes on foot, but the area holds little of interest. Downtown Nashville, the Grand Ole Opry, and the Country Music Hall of Fame are about a 15-minute drive or cab ride from the hotel and the Parthenon -- a replica of the iconic Athenian structure -- is about a 20-minute drive away. The historic Belle Meade Plantation is a 30-minute drive from the hotel.

All of the Radisson’s 180 rooms are similar and predictable, with neutral beige and yellow overtones throughout and dated details like floral armchairs and gilded frames. The look is homey, with mid-tone wood-veneer furniture that has classic, heavy lines, plus striped curtains and bed skirts. Modern comforts abound, though, and include firm pillow-top mattresses, ergonomic desk chairs, free Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, and large flat-screen TV with several cable channels including HBO. Rooms also come with bathrobes and slippers. Bathrooms are standard for the chain, and are impeccably clean. They have large black granite vanities, shower/tub combos, and toiletries. 

In addition to a free airport shuttle, free parking, and free Wi-Fi, this Radisson offers a variety of packages that include free breakfast and extended parking -- though these are not standard with every booking. The modern restaurant serves a hot buffet breakfast as well as tasty American pub fare for lunch and dinner. Guests have free access to the spacious indoor pool and modern fitness room. There is also a snack purchase area and meeting rooms available for special events -- business services like computer rentals are available.
