Doubletree by Hilton Hotel New Orleans

Scene

A bustling chain property catering to large groups and business travelers

Given its large size and convenient location, the Doubletree is a popular choice with large groups: ranging from conventions, to bachelorette parties, to family reunions. With large groups comes a lobby that’s busy most of the time, bordering on chaotic during check-in and check-out. Thankfully, there’s plenty of lounge seating and a spacious bar where guests can spread out and put their feet up between meetings or trips out to explore the city.

Renovated in 2016, the modern property is decorated in mostly grays and subdued tones, helping to make the busy hotel feel calm and relaxing. One of the most notable features of the renovation are the huge black-and-white murals of iconic city buildings and classic New Orleans architecture that greet guests near the elevators on each floor. They’re a welcome touch of local charm in a property that otherwise feels like a fairly standard chain hotel. The fresh cookies provided at check-in are another nice extra that makes a stay at the Doubletree feel a bit more personal. For guests who want modern amenities and a convenient base for exploring New Orleans, the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel is a solid choice.
