Radisson Hotel & Suites Fallsview

This mid-range hotel from the Radisson chain has a corporate look that's typical of the chain. Decor is uninspired, but spaces are illuminated by natural light thanks to large windows. The lobby has a bit of an institutional waiting room look thanks to drop ceilings, but it's pleasant enough. Potted plants enhance the neutral-hued space, which offers some seating by the windows. There's not much in terms of public spaces. Even the restaurant the hotel is affiliated with, Tony Roma's, does not have direct access through the hotel (though it's in the same building). It must be accessed by walking outside and around the building. Guests are a mix of business travelers (the convention center is a short walk away) and tourists keen on seeing the falls. 

The hotel is situated in a convenient area that's home to several other hotels, including an adjacent Marriott and Embassy Suites. It's an ideal location for tourists wishing to visit the falls, as the Horseshoe Falls are visible from many of the hotel's rooms, and the Fallsview Tourist Area and Welcome Center are about a 15-minute walk away. The Niagara Parks Falls Incline Railway is a seven-minute walk from the hotel. There are several chain dining options in the area, including an adjacent Outback Steakhouse and a Starbuck's, plus many more options within a 10-minute walk. The Fallsview Casino is an eight-minute walk away. Other area attractions include the Niagara Falls IMAX Theatre (13-minute walk) and Skylon Tower with panoramic views over the falls (15-minute walk). The Scotiabank Convention Centre is a four-minute walk from the hotel's entrance, making this an equally convenient base for business travelers. Niagara Falls International Airport is a half-hour drive away. Buffalo Niagara International Airport is about a 45-minute drive; both are across the border in NY state.

Much like the rest of the property, rooms are bland in terms of decor, with an uninspired chainlike look, but they have large windows that fill them with plenty of natural light. Gray and blue carpeted floors are met with off-white walls and plain wooden furnishings. These include nightstands flanking beds, dressers topped with flat-screen TVs, and black granite-topped work desks. Cream-colored armchairs provide seating by the windows, some of which have views of the Horseshoe Falls. Larger rooms include sleeper sofas. 

Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, electronic safes, telephones, iPod dock alarm clocks, irons/ironing boards, and free Wi-Fi. Higher-category rooms, beginning with Standard River-View Rooms, add microwaves and mini-fridges. Business Class Rooms come with even more added perks, including free breakfast, free daily drink vouchers, and upgraded bathroom amenities. Suites offer separate living rooms and some have whirlpool tubs.

Bathrooms are fairly plain, but large, with roomy sink vanities that offer lots of storage space and shower/tub combos. Fixtures could use an update. They're also equipped with magnifying mirrors and toiletries from Rituals. 

Note that there have been some complaints about cleanliness here. Past guests note a variety of issues, from stains, to not thorough enough cleaning, to left behind garbage. Rooms are average in size, with entry-level ones starting at 220 square feet (20.4 square meters). The largest option is the Bi-level Suite, which measures 580 square feet (53.8 square meters) and can sleep up to seven people.

A handful of features make for a more convenient stay. One of the most popular features is the indoor pool. It's surrounded by a pool deck set with padded loungers, along with tables and chairs. There's also a hot tub. Fitness facilities are small, but offer a couple of Life Fitness machines like treadmills and ellipticals with personal screens, plus there are weights. Other amenities include two meeting rooms, free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, and a business center that's open 24-hours. Both valet and self-parking are available on-site.

Tony Roma's restaurant is situated in the same building as the hotel but necessitates a walk outside (no direct access through the hotel) to access. It serves a breakfast buffet in the mornings (there are a la carte options too), as well as lunch and dinner. Room service from here is also available.
