Orka Club Hotel & Villas

Scene

Large park-like setting with villas in a quiet part of Hisaronu

The Orka Club Hotel & Villas is located in a quiet, forested part of town, giving it an overall relaxing vibe, though on-site activities and nearby nightlife add some excitement. Arriving to the hotel, it looks a little like an entrance to an amusement park due to two orca statues, flags, and an entertainment agenda. Interiors are more subdued, featuring neutral-tone seating arrangements and earth-tone accents, which carries into the rooms. The property's white two- and three-story buildings with bougainvillea-wrapped brick columns are situated in more of a park-like setting, with pathways meandering around neatly manicured gardens and furnished terraces. Signs direct guests to the water park, kids' club, and bars -- one of which has colorful flags and soccer jerseys hanging from the ceiling. But, individuals seeking a more peaceful atmosphere can find it at the annex, which has its own pool and is situated about a five-minute walk from the main hotel. Guests are primarily families, though couples are still common, and many are repeaters.

Location

Located in a quiet part of Hisaronu, a 10-minute drive from beach

The Orka Club Hotel & Villas is located in the quieter part of Hisaronu, about a 10-minute walk to the center's restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops. Buses are outside of the hotel for longer trips into places such as Oludeniz (10 minutes without stops) and Fethiye (twenty minutes non-stop). A taxi is the quickest method, and a stand is outside the hotel. Once in Oludeniz, guests can visit multiple beaches, and find places to eat, drink, or shop. Paragliding is a popular activity, allowing travelers to soar from the heights of the Babadag Mountains onto the beach of the Blue Lagoon. Dalaman Airport is about an hour's drive away.

Rooms

Spacious, simple hotel rooms and sensible villas with kitchens

The spacious rooms are mostly contemporary, outfitted in a neutral-tone color scheme with pops of peach that consists of wood floors, simple wood furniture, and peach accent walls and matching bedding. Parquet wood headboards and pleasant artwork add interest. All come with air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and small safes, though the latter requires a fee. Balconies and patios are narrow but suffice for two outdoor chairs and a table. Modern bathrooms have white tile with a strip of peach, shower/tub combos, bowl sinks, a range of toiletries, and wall-mounted hairdryers. There are additionally three Family Rooms and four connecting rooms. Light sleepers or couples may prefer to be in the 28-room annex, which is a quieter part of the hotel with its own swimming pool.

Also available are 34 air-conditioned two-story villas, which lack style but provide plenty of functionality. Each villa has three bedrooms with patterned bedding that looks dated, well-equipped living areas with cheery pops of lime green, and two bathrooms. Kitchenette are small but utilitarian, offering kettles, toaster ovens, mini-fridges, and two-burner stoves. Of course, there are essentials such as dishes, flatware, and pots and pans. Porch are lovely and spacious enough for tables with six chairs. A mini-market is also on-site.

Private villas and apartments can also be rented, with the former having their own pools. Cleaning services are provided, and guests can use the hotel amenities.

Features

Several pools, restaurants, and bars, along with a fitness center and spa

Plenty of on-site features for kids and adults include three indoor and outdoor pools and an aqua park. The main outdoor pool is big, surrounded by loungers and umbrellas, as well as a nearby half-moon-shaped pool for toddlers. Water aerobics and other activities take place here. The annex pool has a secluded atmosphere and stunning vistas of the Babadag Mountains, while the indoor pool is even quieter but void of lounge chairs. The water park has a big waterslide leading to a sizable pool, but it lacks the splash areas or fountains often found at others.

The main restaurant serves buffet-style fare to the all-inclusive or half-board guests. Food is well-reviewed, and Turkish and barbecue nights are crowd favorites. The Sunset Restaurant offers an a la carte menu, along with gorgeous views. There are a number of bars, too, including a main bar, pool bar, and lobby bar. The pool bar is housed in a pavilion with stone columns, a billiards table, and flat-screen TV.

The spa is housed in a round stone building, and offers a Turkish bath, sauna, steam room, and massage treatments for both adults and children. Guests rave about the quality of services, and same for the hair salon. A nearby fitness center has cardio and strength-training machines and free weights. A kids' club is available, as is entertainment. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
