Bottom Line

The upscale Oyster Residence Oludeniz is an adult-only (ages 14 and up) boutique along the beach in Oludeniz. Decor throughout is shabby chic and hip bohemian, appealing to mostly young-to-middle-aged couples. The 26 rooms are individually decorated in appealing furnishings, and come with minibars and flat-screen TVs. The pool is shaded by olive trees and surrounded by lounge chairs, hammocks, and pillowed daybeds. The restaurant and bar provide quality dishes plus gorgeous views. The neighboring bars can pose a noise problem, however, and light sleepers should bring ear plugs. This is an excellent option, but the seven-room Beyaz Yunus provides an even more intimate and elegant stay.

Oyster Hotel Review

Oyster Residences

Scene

Hip, welcoming environment and plenty of comfortable places to relax

The welcoming multicolored letters on the exterior say, “Oyster Residence Hip Hotel,” with their restaurant menu casually leaned up against the stone wall. On the other side of the wall is the welcoming lobby, with its lovely trellis providing shade over an alfresco seating area, punctuated with pastel pillows and planters. Lots of olive trees provide shade over the grounds, particularly around the serene pool. Sunbeds, hammocks, and funky plastic chairs provide seating for guests that forego the adjacent beach to stay on-site. The shabby chic decor throughout -- including the crochet tablecloths, colorful hanging lanterns, and dolphin artwork -- provides a ton of charm. As the hotel is limited to travelers 14 years and older, most guests tend to be couples.

Location

Located on the beach of Belcekiz, with a host of amenities right outside the door

The entrance to Oyster Residence is located one block from the beach, in the town of Oludeniz. Amenities in town are steps outside the door, too, offering both a disadvantage for the noise level and an advantage for their proximity. Nonetheless, stellar restaurants and bars, souvenir shops, and paragliding agencies are within easy walking distance. The famous Blue lagoon can be reached in 10 minutes by foot. It takes longer -- either an hour's walk or 10-minute drive -- to get to the small but lively village of Hisaronu. It's known for its nightlife, plus there are souvenir stores, spas, and eateries. Another nearby attraction is Fethiye, known as much for its markets as its cultural attractions, such as its castle, amphitheater, museum, and ruins. Shuttles are close to the hotel and can transport guests there in approximately 25 minutes. Dalaman Airport takes about an hour or so to get to, without traffic.

Rooms

Comfortable, bohemian-style rooms

Oyster Residences has 26 individually decorated rooms that are furnished with lovely shabby chic decor that echoes the rest of the property. Though actual furniture and decor varies, guests can expect wood floors, white walls, and artwork that combine to create a warm and homey vibe. Some rooms have large furnished terraces, though others have tiny Juliette balconies or no outdoor spaces at all. Standard amenities include air conditioning, minibars, small flat-screen TVs, and Wi-Fi -- though it can be patchy. Closets are stocked with bathrobes and safes. Bathrooms similarly vary, some with shower/tub combos and others with separate whirlpool tubs. All include a retractable magnifying mirror, hairdryer, plenty of toiletries, and a scale. A Honeymoon Suite is also available.

Features

Seaside restaurant, lounge bar, and lovely pool surrounded by olive trees

The hotel's restaurant and bar has a variety of seating -- including a quirky four-poster bed -- and a gorgeous stone fireplace. The restaurant and lounge receive strong recommendations from prior guests and are quite popular with outside travelers. The Oyster Beach Lounge Bar has funky peach-colored stools in front of its wood bar, plus a long couch and dining sets. Its best feature is the lovely sea views.

The long rectangular pool is surrounded by lounge chairs on a wood deck, and lots of olive trees. Other seating options include hammocks, chairs, and daybeds. Guests won’t find an umbrella as there’s no need with all the trees. It’s a very cozy environment, complete with a bookcase full of paperbacks for those not utilizing the free (albeit spotty) Wi-Fi.
