Bottom Line

For convenience to the airport, the three-pearl Comfort Inn Toronto is a solid choice, just a two-minute drive away, with free 24-hour shuttle service. Its 99 guest rooms have standard cookie-cutter chain hotel decor, and some could use a refresh, but they're still pleasant, comfortable, and well-equipped. All units have flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi, and microwaves are available upon request for a fee, but there are no in-room safes. Features include a free hot breakfast with waffles that's a crowd-pleaser, an on-site comfort food restaurant and pub with a pool table, and a small but functional gym. Travelers looking for a stay with a swimming pool can consider the nearby Holiday Inn Toronto Airport East, but breakfast isn’t free and it isn't as close to the airport.

Comfort Inn Toronto Airport

Scene

Convenient hotel for couples and families, with a comfort food eatery

Comfort Inn Toronto Airport is an unexciting but reliable chain hotel, decorated and outfitted to Comfort Inn standards. It's housed in a two-floor motel-style building, with a contemporary lobby that has colorful lamps and art on the walls, comfortable seating, and a flat-screen TV. At less than two minutes from the airport by car or shuttle, it's convenient for those with early morning flights, and guests who frequent the hotel tend to be leisure travelers. The atmosphere is friendly and guests also benefit from the on-site restaurant and pub, which many area hotels in this price category don’t offer. There are few attractions in the area and the hotel is far from downtown Toronto, so it’s not an ideal spot for tourists.

Location

Close to airport, but far from downtown Toronto

The Comfort Inn is situated just a two-minute drive from Toronto Pearson International Airport. A few restaurants, bars, and shops are within walking distance, but the roads around the hotel are wide and have lots of traffic. The International Centre and Toronto Congress Centre conference centers are both a 10-minute drive. Woodbine Racetrack is 10 minutes by car and Westwood Square Mall is a little more than a 15-minute drive, and Canada’s Wonderland Amusement Park and Square One Shopping Centre is roughly 30 minutes by car. Downtown Toronto is about a 40-minute drive, depending on traffic, or about an hour by UP Express train from the airport. The airport also has buses and GO trains for travel around the area.

Rooms

Spacious and reasonably attractive, with mini-fridges, flat-screen TVs, and coffeemakers

Guest rooms at the Comfort Inn are spacious and they have more character than that of other budget chain hotels. There’s quality wood furniture, art on the walls, and the color palette is a warm tan, gold, and brown, with maroon or navy carpet and upholstered chairs, and some units have sofa beds. All are spacious, comfortable, and they're generally in good condition, though as of July 2017 the hotel is still renovating some rooms and hallways. Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, desks with keyboard trays, coffeemakers with free coffee and tea, mini-fridges, and free Wi-Fi. Microwaves are available upon request for a fee, but there are no in-room safes (and the hotel doesn't have a safety deposit box). Bathrooms are also spacious and well-lighted, and contain granite vanities, showers/tub combos, hairdryers, and toiletries.
