Bottom Line

Clean and well-maintained, the 75-room Ashley Inn and Suites is a two-and-a-half pearl hotel within a 10-minute walk of the beach, with a saltwater indoor pool, a hot tub, a sauna, and an old-fashioned fitness center. Rooms are spacious and homey, with mini-fridges and microwaves, and some suites have whirlpool tubs and kitchenettes or kitchens. Breakfast -- although basic -- is free and there's a Starbucks next door. Beer and wine can be purchased in the gift shop. For guests on extended stay there’s a self-serve laundry room. Travelers craving rooms with beachfront views may prefer the Coho Oceanfront Lodge, which like the Ashley Inn, allows dogs.

Ashley Inn and Suites

Scene

Value hotel with a family-friendly vibe and nearby beach access

The Ashley Inn and Suites is a roadside value hotel for travelers who want to be on the Oregon Coast within walking distance to the beach. This hotel features a multi-colored, three-floor exterior and river stones around the small entrance. River rocks also accent the lobby’s fireplace, which is surrounded by comfy leather armchairs. The lodge-style atmosphere is slightly old-fashioned but pleasant overall, with red or green patterned carpeting in the corridors. For guests who want to stay in, there’s a DVD movie library plus beer and wine for sale in the gift shop. At night the hotel staff often provide baked cookies for guests. This hotel appeals to families with children and couples, and really anyone looking for value-priced rooms.

Rooms

Homey, plain rooms with mini-fridges and microwaves; some suites have kitchenettes

Sitting areas have green carpeting and accent walls paired with floral drapes and red love seats in sitting areas that create a homey, but dated, look. Most rooms have 32-inch flat-screen TVs with DVD players and there are DVD rentals available in the gift shop. Microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and irons are nice for travelers away on extended stays. Bathrooms have hairdryers, shower/tub combos or walk-in showers, and external vanity areas with sinks.

King Junior Suites have wet bars separating sitting areas from beds, but other types of suite generally have separate bedrooms and living rooms. Family Junior Suites fit up to four people and Deluxe Family Suites sleep six. Spa Rooms and Spa Suites have whirlpool tubs. Kitchen Apartment Suites offer full kitchens with stoves/ovens, dishwashers, large refrigerators, and dining areas; some have kitchenettes. Pets are allowed in certain units for a fee and ADA accessible rooms are available.
