With a picturesque and convenient location, the Inn at Seaside attracts a mix of both families and convention goers. It's centrally located -- just off Highway 101, next to a convention center, and two blocks from the main drag of beach, with fun activities like bumper boats, factory outlets, and an aquarium in the immediate area. Rooms range in size and sleep up to eight at the largest; some have kitchens or kitchenettes. With free breakfast, cookies, Wi-Fi, and an indoor swimming pool, the three-pearl hotel is a good value for families on a budget -- but it does look a bit dated.
Scene
Exudes value from the street to the lobby.
The exterior of the Inn at Seaside is exactly what one might expect of a three-pearl value property that attracts both families and convention-goers: it's very practical and seems to exude value. The decor inside the lobby and adjacent breakfast room is log-cabin inspired and more reminiscent of a mountain resort rather than a seaside inn -- various shades of wood plus a fireplace with a mantle decorated with seasonal touches, like a scarecrow and pumpkins for fall. There are a few personal nods -- like fresh-baked cookies for the taking and the old-fashioned reception desk -- that give the property a homey, although dated, feel.
Location
Easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants of the quintessential coastal town of Seaside.
A coastal Oregon town that offers all the staples -- like saltwater taffy, bumper boats, bike riding, and an aquarium -- Seaside attracts its fair share of families. The hotel is about two blocks from the main drag, so most attractions are a short walk away. The Inn is adjacent to a convention center, so it also attracts people on business. It's just off Highway 101 and a five-minute drive from both the Seaside Golf Course and Seaside Municipal Airport. The Pacific Ocean is less than one mile away and Lewis & Clark National Historic Park is 10 miles away.
Rooms
Clean and comfortable -- nothing fancy
The 47 rooms at the Inn at Seaside come in a variety of sizes, sleeping from three people to eight. The Queen Studio features two Murphy beds. All rooms have a refrigerator, microwave, flat-screen TV, DVD player, coffeemaker, and a work desk. Some rooms feature kitchens or kitchenettes and some are pet friendly (inquire at reservation time). Rooms are bright and clean, decorated primarily in basic neutral shades of white, beige, and brown.
Features
Small heated pool is popular with families, as are the free DVDs and cookies.
The hotel offers fresh-baked cookies in the lobby and a free continental breakfast each morning, but there isn't a restaurant or bar on-site. Families enjoy the heated indoor pool and the free DVD rentals from the hotel's library. There's free Wi-Fi throughout the property, and a desktop computer for guests to borrow. Coin-operated laundry facilities are available. Parking is free.
