Bottom Line

This quiet property features privately owned condos and townhouses, and mostly attracts families with its safe, neighborhood vibe. The club house acts like the local country club; not only does it feature a fitness center and game room, but it also has a business center. The real highlight is the lovely pool area, which offers a view of the adjacent Lake Cay. While decor can vary slightly from unit to unit, all condos have separate living rooms and dining rooms, fully-stocked modern kitchens, and washer/dryers. Though many of Orlando’s main attractions are just a short drive away, there are no restaurants on-site.

Scene

This quiet condo community is a nice, family-friendly option for those looking to avoid crowded resorts.

Vista Cay is just a short drive from Orlando’s main attractions, but it can feel miles and miles away with its serene, residential feel. Lovely grounds, a modern club house, and condo and townhouse units add to the family-friendly atmosphere. Its spread-out plan makes for quiet nights and uncrowded spaces, but it can also mean a long walk from some units to the club house and/or parking. Nonetheless, it is a great upper-middle-range option with all the amenities of staying in a rental home –- modern, fully-stocked kitchens, privacy, homey decor and all.

Location

Though it feels miles away from the hustle and bustle of International Drive, this property is just a short drive away from many attractions.

Unlike so many family-friendly properties in Orlando, Vista Cay has a tranquil feel –- thanks in large part to its location off of International Drive, which means no annoying traffic noise, as well as its sprawling, well-kept grounds. But the property is nonetheless just a short drive from attractions such as Sea World, Discovery Cove, Aquatica, and Universal Studios. Disney World is about a 20-minute drive away, and numerous restaurants, shops, and golf courses are also just a short trip in the car.

Rooms

This property features two- and three-bedroom condos, as well as townhouses with three bedrooms.

Rooms at this condo and townhouse property are spacious and modern, and feature lovely, homey decor. While decor varies slightly from unit to unit (some units have iPod docks and others do not), they generally look very similar: picture warm, beachy decor in neutral shades with leather accents. All have separate living rooms and dining rooms, as well as modern, shiny kitchens that come fully stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, and numerous appliances arranged on the marble countertops. There are large flat-screen TVs in almost all rooms, free Wi-Fi throughout each unit, and all also come with washer/dryers and small balconies with patio furniture. Most condos are entered via interior hallways, but townhouses have their own private entrances.

Features

The property offers almost all the amenities of a resort, but lacks on-site restaurants.

Like many resorts in the area, Vista Cay largely attracts families visiting Orlando for its many kid-friendly attractions. Therefore, it may come as no surprise that the property offers a game room, as well as a pool. But the pool here is a step above the one at many similar properties; the large pool area includes a children’s pool as well as a bar, and plenty of lounge chairs and patio space for finding some privacy in the sun. The pool is accessed via the club house, which is also home to the business center, the game room, and the fitness center, which is small but offers several cardio machines and weight-training machines. Some units are just a short walk from the club house, while others are a bit more of a trek. There are no on-site restaurants, but units come with fully-stocked kitchens and there are numerous dining options just a short drive away. Free parking and free Wi-Fi are also included in the rates.
