Bottom Line

The Chesterfield Hotel is a 53-room boutique hotel that is also a historic landmark. Although the hotel does offer babysitting services, it is more of a romantic getaway for couples than a vacation spot for families. Room rates are in line with other nearby upscale hotels on the island of Palm Beach. The individually decorated rooms are sophisticated, often incorporating bold and colorful fabrics, and are meant to resemble those in a European-style bed and breakfast.

The Chesterfield Palm Beach

Scene

Upscale boutique hotel in the heart of Palm Beach

Seated in the residential section of Palm Beach, The Chesterfield Hotel was designed and decorated as a European-style bed and breakfast. The hotel has been registered as an historic landmark with the Palm Beach Preservation Foundation, and dates to 1926; much of the historic character of the building has been preserved. Today, it is part of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection, which operates luxurious and family-run boutique hotels internationally.

The lobby includes light-yellow walls, several lights throughout the ceiling, dark furniture, and bright floor tiles. Flower arrangements are found at every turn, and the furniture, curtains, paintings, and mirrors make the area feel more like a formal living room than a hotel lobby. Crown molding is found on the walls throughout the hotel, from the lobby to the hallways to the rooms.

The light-peach exterior of the hotel is reminiscent of the coral found on the beach. From the outside the building looks more like an expensive condominium complex than a hotel. The Leopard Lounge & Restaurant are done in dark tones complete with black tables and chairs, dim lighting, dark carpeting, and dark shutters throughout the room.
