Bottom Line

With three outdoor pools and direct access to the beautiful beach, there’s no shortage of sunbathing spots at Long Beach Resort, a Panama City Beach condo resort that's within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and shops. The value resort has 85 privately owned condos that range from studios to three-bedroom units. All rooms have large balconies with pretty gulf views as well as living rooms and kitchens (except the smallest Efficiency units), though guests complain of dated furnishings and decor as well as cleanliness issues like sandy floors and beds. There’s an age requirement of 25 and older, and a cleaning fee is tacked onto the rental rate. Travelers might want to compare rates with Sunrise Beach Resort, a mid-range, beachfront condo complex with two outdoor pools.

Long Beach Resort

Scene

Budget condo complex on long stretch of beach

Guests enter Long Beach Resort via a drive-through gate into a large parking lot dotted with palm trees. Units are divided among four towers overlooking the sandy gulf shores. Inside, the lobby area is plain and bland, cloaked in beige hues and resembling a waiting room with its pale walls, tiled floors, and spare decor. There aren't many indoor public spaces, but the property has three separate outdoor pools surrounded by sundecks lined with seating, plus there’s a pool bar with bright blue and yellow walls and beachy decor where guests can order a drink or buy an ice cream snack. The white, sandy beach stretches in front of the property, and a row of blue-cushioned lounge chairs offer a spot for taking in the gulf breeze.

Rooms

Rooms with huge gulf view balconies and some dated decor

The resort's condos vary in size and decor, though the rooms we saw were a bit dated, with homey decor that included patterned bedspreads, houseplants, and beach paintings. Some rooms have carpeting while others have tile floors. Condos range in size from studios that can accommodate two guests to three-bedroom units that can sleep up to eight. All units, except the smallest Efficiency condos, have full kitchens with ovens, refrigerators, microwaves, and dishwashers as well as cookware and tableware. All rooms also have TVs with cable channels. Guests complain that Wi-Fi can be spotty, and some rooms have dated furnishings and rusty doors. Balconies are spacious with gorgeous gulf views and patio furniture.
