Hotel Cluny Square

Popular with tourists, The Hotel Cluny Square is an attractive corner property located on a busy pedestrian area in the 5th Arrondissement. The hotel is attractive from the outside, with quaint white shutters, but its central location at a main Latin Quarter intersection means that guests might experience some traffic noise from the street below. Interiors have a boutique-hotel vibe, with fresh neutral decor and rustic wooden furniture throughout. There are a few small, intimate places to unwind after an afternoon seeing the sights, but keep in mind that the dramatic spiral staircase that leads up from street level difficult to navigate. Guests here are mainly couples enjoying the romance of the city (and the hotel), but families and groups of friends have also visited. 

Located at the crossroads of Boulevard Saint-Germain and Boulevard Saint-Michel in the city's vibrant Latin Quarter, the Hotel Cluny Square is perfectly positioned near a huge selection of cultural attractions, shops, restaurants, and bars. Highlights include the gothic sculptures at the Musee de Cluny, which is just a three-minute walk from the hotel. Paris’ oldest restaurant, Le Procope -- which opened in 1686 -- is a favorite dinner choice for locals and visitors alike and is a five-minute walk away. Sainte Chapelle is a six-minute walk, and Notre Dame Cathedral and Luxembourg Gardens are both a seven minutes away on foot. It's just a one minute walk to Cluny - La Sorbonne Metro station and a three-minute walk to Odeon Metro, making it easy to explore the city. Cycling is a popular way to get around, with the Louvre Museum just a 12-minute ride away, depending on speed and traffic. Charles de Gaulle Airport is a 25-minute drive, or a 40-minute journey on the RER train. Each of these small-but-attractive rooms features floor-to-ceiling windows, some of which lead to private Juliet balconies with street and rooftop views. All are done in sharp, contemporary decor with deep blue, violet, or gray feature walls, and plenty of natural light. White bed linens are accented by colorful pillows, and details like tufted headboards add even more class. Furniture includes a small desk and chair, and a freestanding wardrobe with wooden hangers. A rooftop Romance Suite has Baroque-style wallpaper, bedside crystal chandeliers, an acrylic desk and chair, and a white chaise lounge to complete the cozy look. It also has great neighborhood views. Standard features include air-conditioning, minibars, electronic safes, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. The Romance Suite adds an iPod dock, but it's an old model. En-suite bathrooms are tiled throughout and include a stall shower, heated towel rack, and hairdryer. Some look fresher than others, like the sleek white marble bathroom in the Gray Room that we visited. The Romance Suite has a large marble-tiled bathroom with a double bath and plenty of counter space. It's worth noting that traffic noise may be an issue in some rooms. 

The Hotel Cluny Square has limited facilities, though what's on offer is on par with other mid-range properties in this prime part of town. The first floor lobby area also serves as a lounge, and is relatively small, but has ample seating for relaxing before or after a day of sightseeing. There's a coffee machine, wall-mounted flat screen television, and a computer and printer for guest use. A continental buffet breakfast is included with some room rates. An elevator leads from the first floor lobby to the bedrooms upstairs, but not from the street level to the lobby. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
