The hotel's best features is its incredible location, surrounded by countless shops and cafes, and within a short stroll of iconic spots like Les Deux Magots and Cafe de Flore. There's no full-service restaurant or wellness amenities on-site, but there's a daily breakfast buffet for an extra charge and free Wi-Fi. Travelers looking for a hotel in the hood with a gym and spa might prefer the pricier Relais Christine.
Scene
A charming boutique hotel with elegant decor and a welcoming atmosphere
Though its entrance is rather understated, De Buci’s interiors feel more like they belong in a countryside chateau than an urban boutique hotel. The lobby’s herringbone parquet and frame moldings feel classically French, but hanging portraits, gilded clawfoot tables, and marble busts add stately elegance. This isn’t to say De Buci feels stuffy or pretentious—there’s a real homey-ness about the place that imbues the atmosphere with sense of warmth and welcome. Daily newspapers, an honor bar, comfy couches, and free Wi-Fi are all part of the package—and guests treat the lobby as their extended living room. The hotel draws American couples and families.

Other nearby attractions include the Luxembourg Gardens (eight-minute walk), the Louvre (11-minute walk), Notre Dame (15-minute walk), and Musee d’Orsay (17-minute walk). The nearest metro stations are Saint-Germain-des-Pres (line 4) and Mabillon (line 10), both of which are about a three-minute walk. Rooms
Beautifully decorated rooms (with lots of toile) and bland bathrooms
If you don’t like toile, you might want to find another place to stay in Paris. Whether it's wallpaper, throw pillows, or drapery, the classic French pattern shows up somewhere in each of De Buci’s 24 guest rooms. The toile’s playful color combinations—blue and pink, green and gold, gray and red—add lots of visual interest, and keep spaces from feeling too traditional. Plush elements like canopied beds and thick pinch pleat drapes continue the upscale chateau theme found in the lobby. In-room amenities include flat-screen TVs, small desks, well-stocked minibars, electronic safes, and electric kettles. Suites have the added bonus of Nespresso machines. Bathrooms aren’t much to write home about, though they have extras like heated towel racks and L’Occitane bath products. Some contain shower stalls, while others have shower/tub combos. Hotel De Buci has 19 rooms and five suites. There are three different room types, and each suite is individually decorated. Boudoir rooms comprise the hotel’s entry-level category, and at 150 square feet, they're best suited for solo travelers. Couples should consider upgrading to La Marquise (182 square feet) or De Maitre (215 square feet) rooms for a bit more space. Suites range in size from 270 to 560 square feet. They have separate living and sleeping spaces, and can accommodate three adults or two adults and two children with rollaway beds. Guest rooms either face the street or a public interior courtyard, but none of the rooms have outdoor space or exceptional views.
Features
Daily breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and a pet-friendly policy
Hotel De Buci serves a buffet-style breakfast every morning in its basement breakfast room. Breakfast isn’t included in the room rates, but it’s reasonably priced and there’s a decent selection of pastries, fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon, sausage, and cheeses. The buffet also includes coffee, tea, and juice. In the lobby lounge there's an honor bar with French wines, top shelf liquors, artisanal teas, and Nespresso products; bills are tallied at check-out. There's no full-service restaurant, spa, or gym on-site, but Wi-Fi is free throughout, and the hotel is pet-friendly for an additional nightly fee.
